E-mail Campaign Woes

Has anyone sucessfully done an email campaign using the FAA application? I tried two different times but the email never seems to go through (put my own email addy in the list as a test , just to see if I would get it, I didn't get the email). I feel that this is potentially a very powerful advertising vehicle and am sad that it isn't working. Oh well, there's always MailChimp.

out of 150- 30 went through. seems to be the average.

if its going to aol, yahoo, comcast, probably others, they never got it at all.

make sure your hitting - run campaign, and it should show you that it sent them out. the whole process takes a while, from making a newsletter, to saving it, to making the mailing with those things. its not that streamlined. just make sure your sending it.

Jane

I just checked yours and you have not actually sent them out

Really Abbie? Because when I check it says "email successfully sent". Most of the emails are to yahoo and gmail and aol accounts. I'll check my spam folder and see if I got mine.

Mike, do find email campaigns an effective way of reaching potential customers, or am I beating a dead horse?

When I just lookd at your email campaign area it said

sent 0

to date, i never got a response to any.

when you send these, you'll see a page that shows all the mail you have and it will say success or something like that.

hard to know if your beating the horse or not. but i just know that i've made some (maybe a weak effort making a newletter that was really kind of ugly and mal functioning (half the images on the sides didn't work. i gave up doing them. i did one more and nothing.

I know, it says 0, but I just checked my spam folder (I added my email address just to see if it would work) and all three campaigns were sent. Prolly a glitch in the system.

I know this is sneaky as hell, but I got the email list of potential buyers from folks who purchased my photos from Etsy. Trying to direct them to my FAA account. I also collect email addresses whenever I participate in local art fairs.

I will send that as a report. It should show how many sent...........obviously

You're right, email campaign in my GOLD ... I send one out once per week, Jane, and have had no issues of late.

Please make sure the addresses you're sending to are correct, as the system doesn't send you bounced mails.

Yup, Mike. When I opened up my email campaign from my SPAM folder, the images were all blocked out.

Thanks for looking into it Abbie. I appreciate the speedy response!

I'm going to do this email stuff as soon as I get a decent number of art pieces in my gallery.

BTW, Frank, Abbie, you've been very encouraging to me. Thanks!

Frank, you can track how many folks open up the email campaign right? On average, how many folks open up the email? (if you don't mind sharing that info).

in my case the pictures worked, but the last 2 on the bottom (i can't even turn those images off if i wanted to), didn't go to the pictures. i wish we had an easier to use newsletter maker.

i think most of the people that sign up, are looking for a welcome to the store coupon. and that's the only reason they sign up. if there was an automatic thing like that, i think it would be more useful.

J L ... If you wait to get the right number of pieces it might never happen .... said another way, if you start now, then when you do get the right number of pieces you'll have a good size email list to send to.

Jane -- It depends on the email, and more so the subject line, but can average between 32% and 68%. This is provided that most of those on your list subscribed themselves, then they are permission based and want to see what you have to say. I have a monthly list with addresses that I added and that gets no more that 22% on average.. and between the monthly email I send them all in invitation email to join the subscribed list. I can tell you with confidence that 85% of my sales have come from my FAA email Campaign.

But Frank, how do you build an email list? Who do you send the emails to? And what's supposed to be IN those emails?

J L -- Here is my thread on the subject http://pixels.com/showmessages.php?messageid=1935582 or faa http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=1935582

EDIT: J L -- Subscribe to my email list and get some ideas. I send it every Thursday evening.

Frankly, unsolicited emails are becoming as annoying as unsolicited snail mail. Each new avenue to send them opens up a whole new avalanche of information that you never gave any indication that you wanted any part of.

Both real and virtual mail are cluttered enough.

I have used the FAA system several times. It has worked perfectly fine every time.
