Anyone Use Iphoto?

I need help, the quicker the better. I am on my sister's Apple computer trying to get some editing done for the first time. The software is pretty easy to get ahold of… except i can't figure out how to resize or to save as a new file. Am I missing something? Anyone else familiar with this?

TIA

I can edit the shot (except for resizing) and can "share to" an album I created, but when I try to lead to FAA, it doesn't see anything in that album.

I use iphoto and GIMP. When you save it to make sure JPEG then save it to desktop and download it to the FAA.
You cannot download from iphoto directory. Hope this helps.

I should say export to desktop, then upload to FAA.

Joseph if you have not already worked it out, I guess there are various ways. But I upload an image directly from iPhoto to FAA (after editing in PSE). You can go to your Images Page and click Upload Image. Then click Choose File and the images in iPhoto will appear (if not click Photos in the lefthand column) and scroll down to the one you want (latest at bottom) and click it.

I crop my photos when necessary in PSE but I believe you can do it as one of the iPhoto editing features.

My PSE icon my computer 70 mies away, so I'm trying to use my sister's Aple to get some shots done. I'm going to try what Hyoye said. Thanks for the help. My problem is that I don't see a Save As option

You don't save, sorry I meant to export. Stay in iphoto and click on file you will see export, click on that and make sure jpeg and you can choose any size you want in that box.

Oh, crap. The bar was hidden! There it is! Thanks, Hyoye! Now, can you resize phoos through iPhoto before I go back to look?

Yes, but resizes meaning cropping or? if you see the export box you will see many different options to choose from. file size medium , large or small, etc
Play around from there. you will get it. if you want to crop, just go to edit in iphoto.

Joseph, I have never used the feature, but if you click an image in iPhoto, you will see Edit at the bottom of the page. Click that and there is a Crop option. There you will find many different set dimensions if that is any help.

Thanks, Margaret! I think I might be getting it. Crash course tonight!

If you know PSE or PS, Gimp is pretty similar where iPhoto is completely different. Since it is free, it is a good option if you are in a bind like you were this time.

In iphoto, double click on the image you want, then you will see edit at the bottom, then click crop, don't pay attention to numbers there just use bottom right corner of the cropping box to adjust to the size you want and stop it there and then click apply. let me know this works. I use iphoto for my editing except stitching for my oil paintings.
