Uploading Pictures Color Discrepancy?

HI there,

I'm getting around to uploading some work, and I've noticed that sometimes the colors look pale, darker, and muted.

On my computer they look normal, but on my phone they look as above. Is there a specific color profile that should be used for optimal printing?

Some of my photos and paintings look awful unless the colors are exact.

Thanks for your help!

Please make sure your colour profile is Adobe RGB or sRGB

also make sure your screen is set to the sRGB. aRGB will show more green and blue, it will be more vivid in photoshop. but in sRGB those same values will look duller. and that's how most of the world will see them too. photoshop can use its own colorspace independent of your screen, so you may be getting different colors because of that.

Mike, Why would my images look desaturated and cooler on one website and not on another?? They are the same color space. They are on a company website, so not placed there by me.

Each website may be using a different default color space. When I post an aRGB color space here they look fine, but if I post an aRGB file on G+ for example it is way saturated. So I convert to sRGB before I post on the web, other than here that is.

i know firefox uses a colorspace of its own, and if the site requires another one, it adapts. each site processes the images differently.

on one site i can't mention everything is darker for some reason.

on another site i can't mention - everything matches what it should look like printed out (We should do that here as well, it should lessen returns).

comparing my stuff from the clones of this site, they all seem to match. this site tends to reconfigure the color a little bit, usually adding a bit more contrast to it to make it pop more.

i always save in sRGB, it makes my life easier.

Thank you all I had a different profile as the default in Lightroom and everything got fixed!
