Nice work Excellent information for anyone interested in photography, as well as a good tool to showcase your own work.

What is key is this:
" I post new content every Sunday, so be sure to keep up with me on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. "
Once people start to read, giving weekly updates is a good way to keep your base and expand it. Great idea on giving tutorials. The how and why of creative people alwas sparks interest

Great points! I used to be in the habit of blogging twice a week and I kept it up pretty well but fell off the wagon. You inspired me to post a blog as well! Here's mine about a local falls: http://andreaborden.com/2015/05/18/three-falls-in-round-mountain-ca-waterfall-weekends/

Bryant,

Do you know if you had sales so far? Can we ask about how you add up the sales results?

Andrea, congrats! Glad I could be of inspiration, that's what I hope my blog does for everyone, I'll check out your post tonight. :)

Mike, thank you!

James, I whole heartedly agree. Thank you!

David, I've just gotten started, and have had 4 sales in the last 2 weeks or so. Could be because of the wine sale, but on my site just to give you an idea of traffic boosts...

March had 243 unique visitors, and 349 total visits with 1021 pages viewed and 7745 hits.
April (When I started blogging) had 662 unique visitors, 1242 total visits, 4983 pages viewed, and 32642 hits
May, which is half over, as of now, has had 811 unique visitors, 1608 visits, 3879 pages viewed, and 20272 hits.

As we all know, the hardest thing is to get your art in front of people, and although I haven't had massive sales yet, I'm laying the ground work and getting the word out there. Add the income from Google Adsense, the occasional (hopefully more frequent as time goes on) sales and word of mouth and I hope for good things. Glad you all enjoyed the article, I'm having a really nice time with it.

Thanks for the stats Bryant. I set up a blog - used it a bit, abandoned it, now re-registered to get started again - working on content. I guess its one of the many things I should be doing for marketing. I'm wary of spending more time on marketing and less on my art - working out that balance.

Thanks Vanessa! James, I hear you on that. Definitely a balance thing for me. I find it goes in waves, but I'm all about being creative and whether it's writing or shooting, I'm happy. Marketing is a tough skill to master but after I finish my Adobe Muse article, I'll go into some cool stuff on how to better market yourself as an artist, so we'll see how it goes. :)

Hi Bryant. Wow, those are some impressive numbers re visitors in a very short span of time. May I impose and ask a couple of questions?

You have the blog on your website, but just one snippet on your FAA AW site. Are you planning to eventually drop your full blog into the FAA AW site or do a link back to your website blog?

The WordPress blog and the FAA store collapse nicely for mobile devices, but the remainder of your site does not. When clicking on an image from the Photography page, the FAA image page opens, but does not adjust for mobile devices. Because navigation is not totally seamless, do you think this negatively impacts potential sales for viewers on mobile devices? My thought is that you are doing a FAB job of getting visitors, but viewing/buying could be easier. LOL, I'm one of those who doesn't like stumbling blocks or frustration of any kind when I want to spend money.

Are the views via social media, and/or are you utilizing a mailing list?

Great photos!!! Keep those numbers rising!!!

Bryant,

I made a point of coming back to your blog entry. Reading it, I can see your dedication and how
you make it work. The structure of how you make it work I needed to read about. I am not a writer.

What blogging service are you using?

I am wondering about Linkedin blogs or business pages? Anyone here using LInkedin?

I am wondering about Tumblr as well. I guess Flickr ties into that.

Bryant I dont wnat to steer you thread off course, but can we broaden t this out to what blogging service
you use?

Bryant can you link that info?

Oh perhaps you meant in future blogs? Right?
