Tweaking A Printed Book

As mentioned earlier, I got my book printed on Blurb

Now, I want to tweak a few of the pages.(including this cover)

Has anyone gone through that tweaking process?

For what I see, I might have to start all over again, reposting every page

Rog,

Depends on what you call tweaking! If you change the format or size, then yes, you need to create a new book, I tried and wanted to do my large Landscape, 11x13 and then 3 smaller formats and they said it can't be done! If on the other hand, you used the older version called BookSmart(?), there seems to be a button somewhere where you can change the format/size.

If just moving images, type, words, then you just change it and call it fixed or something and then upload it again. I JUST today got my tweaked 2nd edition delivered today! I added pages, made the font on ALL the stuff smaller and corrected a few spelling errors,

Rich,

I'm not using Blurb's templates...Everyone of the 92 pages is an independent 8"x10" file of my own creation.(both.Image and type)

I've tried all evening to "Get revised image from my computer, then click and drag", as I did with the original.

I suppose I have to start from scratch

I just tweaked a book,t he new version came today.... the old one will be used as advertising...the new one stays with me as a record of my work.

Roger, it is way easier to use their software....it can do just about anything...

Roger,

Why oh Why aren't you using their software, to produce their books?

Rich

p.s. Almost a coot!

Good luck to you, Roger. I may want to write a book, I certainly have edited other writers, but it's a lot of work to write.

The reason I didn't use their software is because I had all the 92 page files already created before I went to blurb.

Photography Prints

I had produced a prototype using my own printer.

The first time through on Blurb, I had minor difficulty, once I learned the ropes, I gott all the pages posted.

Many needed to be slightly resized to prevent bleeding off the pages..

Certain images that spread (photo-spread) across the 2 pages, can only be determined as to how much of the image is lost in the center seam, only after this initial book is printed

I've fully expected to deal with those that turn out unsatisfactory....2 out 6 two page images seem to need about a 1/4" "spreader" at the center..(this will result in 2 fat Coots). The other 4 are fine.

A few other files I now want to tweak for aesthetic reasons..

I was certain that all I had to do, was go back to the 92 blurb files and deal with only the pages needed to be tweaked, while the rest remain intact,.

Unless I'm missing something, that seems to be IMPOSSIBLE.

Edit:

This is what is on the printed book now

And this is what I want

Indesign or individual pages in photoshop or the like?

Nancy,

Everyone of the 92 ink drawings has been digitally colored and enhanced.

Rog,

I think you can do that now in Blurb's BookWright. I changed the size of a couple of images, once I got the first book back and I also had an issue with the first cover, I missed that the image didn't bleed completely over the cover's edges, so I fixed that on the second book. I don't know nuttin about the double spreads though, but it seems that can be fixed too.

I would also suggeest that you call Blurb, which I did 3 times now with questions and they will help.

Is this to be an E-Book or a hardcover for sale? My book has 100 pages and cost about $100 or so, using the luster paper,

Rich,

I know the price is prohibitive . I paid $50.00 for a 10"x8" hardcover with 33% discount.

And at that size, it seems kinda small,

I've always envisioned this book to be on every coffee table across the world...HA!

I haven't yet checked about going Amazon as Blurb offers
.
I'll do some calling as you suggested in the meantime

Rich, thanks for putting up with me

And Now How About YOU??

Love to see your book...and know your plans

Rich,

I clicked onto the link and this what I got from Blurb

"The book you're looking for can't be found. It may have been deleted or removed from public view. If you think you've reached this page in error, please check the link and try again."

Maybe, I should try again

Edit:

I just tried again..same result

I tried it and it worked for me. Maybe you need to sign in on Blurb, or try this link:
