Copyright Sequence

I turn to all of the professional photographers, business owners, and copyright owners here today for an inquiry in the steps needed to be taken in order to have official copyright ownership of the images that I produce. My images are being sold now; people are asking for them worldwide. Some images are already being "reproduced" without my permission nor signature clearly visible. I also believe that I am quickly surpassing the threshold of copyright demand. I would absolutely appreciate any responses here and the information that I need in truly becoming copyright complete! THANK YOU ahead of tuime for your thoughts and inclusions here..........

I have produced 100s of images, and have 100s more, rather frivolously and am now concerned with the "value" of them, as well as the possibility of other people reproducing them......I need to understand how to keep my images clearly OWNED by ME

go to copyright.gov for the instructions. it's not that cheap, and it's only good if you plan on going to court which is far more expensive. best thing to do is find the culprits and get your name appended on, then you'll have advertising space. it's very expensive to fight these things, and there is no promise you'll win it either, partly because you have to prove damages.

Jesse, no on in here is a copy right lawyer. If it is a big a deal as yo see to be suggesting, you need to seek professional help, not look from advice from people that don't anything more then you do.

If you don't want to pay for a lawyer, that would suggest to me that it is not all that big of a problem.

The bottom line is EVERYONE that is selling images on the net is experiencing the same thing. Everyone does a lot of bitching about it, but in reality there is not much you can do without seeking (very expensive) legal action.

THANX for responses here! I am just genuinely hoping for peoples' knowledge here as experienced in this field far beyond me..... and I appreciate all thoughts. Going into something new with blindfolds on is farrr worse than obtaining some knowledge from the educated and being able to counter the events that possible come henceforth! THANX again for thoughts

in general my experience is - its not worth it. the people that take it are probably weather blog people, doubtful that coke or pepsi will take it (they have the money). even if you were awarded the full amount of money, most blog people won't have that. and you would have ruined a life for no reason, and since they are blog people - they will ruin yours with bad publicity. best to get credit, and find new people that may want that stuff for their walls.
