What Happened To "artistwebsites.com"?

I know I've been pretty inactive recently, but I was very surprised just now as I was going to send the link to "my" website through FAA (you know the one: carollynn-coronios.artistwebsites.com) - only to find it GONE.

What happened? Do I owe this year's fee? No notice! Pretty upset, as I've been pointing people to that rather than my own ayliprod.com website for my art work.

HELP, please!

Carol

The look of' behind the scenes' as changed but it should still be there for you!

Thanks, Jeffrey - sorry - I should have been more specific.

The look is completely different; it's exactly what appears when I log in to FAA. Did they do away with the separate - premier member - artistwebsites? Leaving no way to customize 'our own' site?

When you are logged in there is an Edit button in the top right part of your screen, where all the tabs are, and you can customize a lot using this button.

You CAN customize your AW after you log in

Marlene, as I set it up last year - and as it has shown until tonight (although I probably haven't checked in a week or so) - my artistwebsites.com site had an attractive header in sort of gold/orange with green print.

Aaaah - I just found an 'edit' button at the top of this new mess. Will see if I can bring it back to its original, attractive state.

Thanks!

Carol,
you got caught in the version 1, version 2 mess.
Sean had announced it somewhere that as of a certain date, we had to switch over, that version 1 would no longer be available.
Have fun redoing!!

@Carol - the AW sites were changed to a new format recently. There have been numerous notices. The new sites are more functional, work better on a variety of platforms, and have numerous other advantages.

Thank you all! I guess when FAA did whatever they did after asking us for larger headshots, our websites were stripped of their customizations. I still like the old 'look' better, but at least I have added some personalization.

For some reason, I quite like the default colours - http://travel-pics.artistwebsites.com/

At least it looks clean.

I might blue it up a little; but unless all sections can be customised, the balanced 'look' fails.

I'm not too keen on the big footer block that so many blog templates seem to have designed into them, but I don't think there's much we can do there.

The 'Artist Websites powered by Pixels.com' at the bottom is not very professional, especially if we're using a CNAME with our own domain URL.

If it must stay, that slug should at least be in a smaller font size. Ideally the Artist Websites link would have an affiliate referral added to it and the Pixels link go to the artist's pixels URL. But it's all duplicate content whichever way we look at it.

While we're on the Artist Websites theme, I notice clicking on the gallery name doesn't work (on pixels.com it does).

All sections can be customized!

You can customize the footer. You can choose to make that block transparent so it blends in with the page and change the font colors.

@Travel Pics:

I prefer the clean basic look and header with my images being the only color. As you can see I made the footer block transparent and darkened the text.

I also made the gallery name tabs transparent so the gallery names are underneath and the gallery images are square. I also did away with the shadowing.

Thanks, Jessica. I like that look! AND the transparent footer. D'ya think that thing is BIG enough?

Good idea, Jessica.

I've solved the unsightly footer block (somewhat) by shrinking the font size.

I love your AW, Jessica!

Now that's something to aim for. And thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Viva! If you need any help...You can also get rid of the border/divider between the side text and your galleries;
Go to Homepage, then the tab content and for border put no

You can also delete the footer border
