Selling Your High Resolution Images

I've been approached by a Hotel to enlarge one of my images , they want to create it to cover an entire wall ,
Does anyone know the in's and out's of selling a high resolution image of your work?
Were to get the High Resolution done?
What to charge for the rights to use the image for something like this?
I really appreciate any input or experience

Sincerely
Lori

If they are licensing and printing it themselves then it is just a matter of how much do you want for a single use of the image (and the publicity). If they want you to print it then it is a cost plus situation. You'll need quotes first (and you'll need specifications from the hotel on what they need exactly).

Canvas Pop is amazing in working with upsizing images. They could probably help you out on the enlargement. They aren't cheap but they are VERY good.

Now, that said, the hotel may be wanting a print on fabric or vinyl that will be applied like wallpaper. CGProPrints (part of Circle Graphics has amazing product as well) does fabric "stickers" that may be what you need if the hotel isn't handling the printing. I don't think they usually print that large but they are great folks and could probably at least steer you in the right direction.

What image are they wanting? How large is the wall? are they going to print it and frame it or paste it on the wall like wall paper?

Lori,

I upsized an image I worked in a background recently here for sale on FAA.

My first go around with the upsizing was a disaster. My memtor
suggested I do what the good enlarging software does. He had read that
those software packages enlarge by 10% at a time. Rinse and repeat till it is done.

There are far fewer artifacts left with this method.

I then added blur. It is a background.

Hi Lori, I believe I've just been contacted by the same hotel. I'm doing some research, but I would approach it as "licensing" the artwork for a specific use rather than selling it outright. In other words, the would receive a license to reproduce the artwork for the walls at this hotel location, and not an unlimited use. I would retain all copyrights. If they want to use it for a brochure or another project/client/hotel/etc, there would be a separate license fee. This is the image they approached me about:
