Have you met any other FAA members in person? How? Where?
Also, please share up to 6 of each person's artworks which are your favorites! (One person per post tho). Feel free to double the pictures sizes too. Thanks!
*** Also, while you getting their pictures to post here, why not do them each a favor and tweet or share their works elsewhere.
TO ADD PICTURES OF YOUR WORKS INTO THIS FORUM POST:
1) Go to the images page on FAA
2) Look on the right hand 'sidebar' for that image
3) Scroll down to where it says 'link' and click in that box which will 'select' the link
4) Press either "control c" (or "command c" for a MAC?) to copy that link (you cannot 'right click' to get it)
5) Come to this forum post and press "control v" or "command v" to paste it into a reply.
6) Repeat the process above for up to 6 pictures per individual post (you won't see the actual picture until you press "Post Reply")
If you want to double your picture's size you must double BOTH the "width" and "height" numbers that are in that link you just copied and pasted.
For example...in the partial link below, mine show Width=250 and Height=194 (so I'd change that to Width=500 and Height=388) to double my picture size

I've met a few, but I believe most of them I knew before they came to FAA. Reginald McDowell and I live in the same area and sometimes shoot together. A few times we were shooting the same train without knowing it --
On this occasion, we were following the same train. He went to one location and I went to another thinking I wouldn't ba able to get from his location to mine. I was right; he tried.
Will Jordan is another. He's a youngster who relies on family members to drive him around, but he got down to my area for that High & Wide train I shot last month.
We've also shot the same locomotive now stranded in Pickens, SC
Ralh Berg and I were at the Streamliners at Spencer event in North Carolina at the same time last year and I know Reggie McDowell was there that weekend, too.
There are a few more FAA members that live in the Columbia area that I communicate with from time to time via Facebook, but I have not met them in person yet.

Next I met the lovely, and very talented, Sheila Diemert of Canada ( http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sheila-diemert.html ) . We met at a Catholic conference in Buffalo, NY several years ago.
As soon as we met she gifted me, and my husband, with a print of one of her beautiful painting of our Lord's Divine Mercy (somewhat like this one) in a lovely frame.
And another print of Saint John Paul II:
She also paints beautiful landscapes like this one:
Florals:
Portraits:
Street scenes...
and so much more! Please check out her gallery!

Great Joseph! Thanks for sharing those! Yes, some of my people are those I met before they were on FAA...some I encouraged to join too! Great train shots!
I'll be back with more in a minute...I need to wash some dishes.
Hope to see other people join in too. God bless!

How fun! I have always wanted to go on a train ride across the country...but have never been on a train....sadly a lot of train crashes have been featured on the news lately.

My sister is also on FAA (she blames me for her FAA addiction). Obviously I met her when I was born! Some of my favorites from her galleries include:

Next I met my Brother's Mother-In-Law, Barbara Koepsell who lives in Orlando Florida ( http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/barbara-koepsell.html ) when she and her husband came up to visit WNY with my brother, his wife, and grandson. She is a very accomplished painter!
Here's a great pet portrait by her:
And a really interesting watercolor of a cyprus tree stump:
Beautiful Still Lifes:
And lovely landscapes...

I was very honored to meet artist Phyllis Beiser when she presented me with an original oil painting that she had done using a photograph of mine for inspiration. We live in neighboring cities and are hoping to spend more time together in the future. Here are a few examples of Phyllis's work, starting with my treasured gift!

And, last (?) but not least, I met Pam Luther ( http://pamelabriggs-luther.fineartamerica.com/ ) and her husband Doug when they came up to meet us, and another FB friend, in WNY...we went to OLV Basilica, Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, and Niagara Falls with this sweet couple.
Pam has a diverse portfolio on here and administers a couple of groups.
She has several great barn images:
A cool bridge picture:
Lovely landscapes:
Pretty Flowers...

I met Anna Ruzsan at a Port Jervis NY outdoor Art exhibit. Loved her watercolors and we struck up a lengthy conversation immediately. She introduced me to FAA , & the Pike County art alliance. Happily I call her a friend now. "Winter Window" is the painting that drew me over to her exhibit , & is now in my possession .The green bottles are from a Art show we were in where she was the Featured Artist.

My sister Kathy McClellan introduced me to FAA last summer. It is true that I am addicted! I love the community and I am rich in cyber friends! I love all aspects of it...but community is the best! I am not techy like most and can not figure out how to post 6 of my favorites of her here...so you will see 6 separate posts! I love her abstracts and her classic cars! Check them out...they are awesome!

So far I have only actually met one artist ( in person ) here at FAA. Elise Palmigiani and I have exchanged numerous kind comments back and forth in appreciation of each other's work over the last few years. However I never thought that I would have the chance to meet such a talented and wonderful person as she is, and that it would happen where she lives in the beautiful city of Lyon, France!
Last August my wife and I did a Viking River Cruise on the Rhone River that happened to make a stop in Lyon. I immediately thought of Elise, sent her an email before we left home and asked about the possibility of meeting her. To my surprise it was easier than I thought, as she and her husband Daniel took time away from their busy schedules, to meet us at a cafe for conversation and drinks. They then took us for a drive around the city for a great time before taking us back to our boat on the river. We were able to get them on board for drinks and a brief tour, before saying farewell. A truly enjoyable experience !
Here is just one example of her vividly beautiful paintings:

I'm loving hearing all your stories and seeing the amazing diversity of artwork that we have here on FAA from many people who have become our friends! Oh, and BTW, Mel, those Viking River Cruises look amazing. I keep getting sent info on them and would love to go if I could afford it.

Rose.....yes the Viking River Cruise was pretty awesome and we had a great time.
So different than the BIG cruise ships out on the ocean nowadays that may have up to 4000 passengers or so. The new Viking Longships are very nice and only hold about 190 passengers, so you get to know some really nice, well-traveled people and everything is pretty much included - shore excursions, meals, wine, beer and so forth. It was our first cruise with them and we got a deal which included free air travel from the USA to Paris and back. That made it all the more attractive and affordable. Take a look at more of my photos from that trip in my Paris and Southern France Gallery.
Looking forward to another one, hopefully in the not too distant future.

I totally forgot about Robert Lyndall. We haven't met officially, but we stood within three feet of one another without knowing it. A few years ago, the Virgina Museum of Transportation held a birthday party for their steam engine, the Norfolk & Western J611 and my wife and I took the kids up. At the time, the engine was on display in Roanoke and I took a picture of the line of people beside her waiting for their piece of cake. (Yes, the museum baked a birthday cake.) A few days later, Mr. Lyndall e-mailed me saying he had seen the shot on Flickr and that he was in it.
The thing to know about Robert Lyndall is he took many, many iconic photographs of this steam engine while it was running passenger excursions in the 80s, so I would have loved to have known it was him at the time. Here are some of his shots --
Perhaps he and I will cross paths again since they are restoring the steam engine back to operating condistion and it should ride the rails again this year.

I met Michael Peychich when he has participated in our local art fair in Saint Clair, Michigan. It's really nice to get to see another member's work up close and personal, sometimes at a very large size, rather than looking at it on a computer screen. Michael's work is wonderful:
My daughter also has an account here. She does spiritually-oriented work. If you go to her gallery - her avatar is photo courtesy "mom" LOL.

I've only met four here on FAA. I have a few that are now close friends via online and hopefully we'll meet face to face one day. My first friend is Marvin Spates. I met him a few years ago while shopping in Best Buy here in Tampa for a camera. He was really giving me some good tips. We started talking about photography and he was asking me places he could show/sell his work online. I suggested FAA and we have been friends since. It always amazes me that we live in the same city and he can find some of the most awesome spots to photograph. I'm a big fan of his work.

Wow...some gorgeous works, and interesting stories of meeting each other being shared...please keep them coming!

Another friend on here I have know for almost 10 years now. We had both gone to a Ritz Camera (Tampa) shoot at a local ranch. We hit it off right at the beginning and began going shooting together, following each other around on online sites to sell our work and became very close friends. She is not only has an incredible eye for photography but is very creative in other things, too. One of the other things I love about her is her wit. If you look through her images, you'll see she's pretty clever with putting quotes with images. The first image here was taken when we went shooting at Circle Bar-B Ranch in Lakeland, Florida. She "wasn't" supposed to put that up!

I have met at least seven FAA artists while I lived in New jersey and here in Kansas City. The incomparable Nat Holland and her husband Len came to our house for dinner in New Jersey. I am posting a Nat painting that is in my office in Parkville. I look at it every day.
Skip Hunt dropped by my home nearly a year ago and spent most of the week in our spare room. We had a great time visiting. Skip would spend his days trolling through KC for photo subjects. Skips color saturated images in Mexico are really wonderful.

I know several FAA artists and photographers in real life, but the most interesting meeting I've had was when I met Bob and Vivian Christopher. I was hiking out of Elowah Falls, soaking wet from the waterfall spray, when I encountered them on the trail. We stopped and chatted for a bit, sharing photography and travel stories, then they went on to the waterfall and I went back to my car. We never got each other's names, lol. The next day, I got a PM on FAA from Bob asking if it was me they met! We had no idea we were all FAA photographers.
I believe this is one of the photos from that day we met-
We kept in touch through this site and met up again when we both traveled to Bandon, Oregon.
Here is another of his photos that I just love-
And another-
And one from his wife Vivian-

More recently, I met Kathleen Bishop, who shares with me a love of wildlife photography. She just happened to be passing through the area where I'm staying when I pm'd her to ask her location. We spent an afternoon photographing birds together at Gray Lodge Wildlife Area in Butte county, CA.
She does fabulous work and here are some of my favorites-
