Transparent Images

are we talking something that will save a png file? or something that will cut out an image and remove the background?

Cute out the image and remove the background. I was trying paint but not much luck.

You can do it in Photoshop. I am not an expert but try to google transparent layers or someone else here may be able to tell you.

What editing program do you use for your photography?

Although I don't use it, lots of people like GIMP. It's free and might be able to produce an image with a transparent background

its not something automatic, you need to remove it with a lasso, and such. unless the image already has a solid background, there are no easy ways. topaz has a cutting out program but it's pain to use for the most part. it really depends what you want to cut out.

If you're designing your own images to use, it might work if you start out using a transparent background.
