We Can Now Navigate With Arrow Keys!

I made this suggestion several months ago. We can now move from image to image in a gallery using arrow keys instead of tedious clicking Previous and Next buttons. YAY! Thank you! So far it only works on FAA, but I'm hoping it will work on our Artist Websites soon. I have limited manual dexterity, and this is MUCH easier for me.

I don't have that feature on my page James and I cant find it on yours. Is it still there? Things have been changing so fast, now you see it now you don't :-)

Interesting, just tried it and it worked, but I honestly don't think I'd ever stumble onto that feature by accident so I'm unsure how many customers will figure it out?

PS. Cool, just tried on my tablet and swiping from right to left took me to the next item in the gallery. Could have already been that way as I'd never tried it before but it's a neat feature.

That's good news; I always wished it were that way.

Now if we can just elimiate the flash that occurs when going from one image to the next.

I know: Bitch, bitch, bitch.

Didn't we always have that? It's also on our AW sites.

Pamela, yes it still works. I first noticed it when I noticed artwork pages were redesigned. Titles are now at the top right.

Mark, you're right. There needs to be some text accompanying the previous/next buttons indicating that arrow keys can be used to advance through a gallery. It's common enough elsewhere, like Facebook, so many people might try it anyway..

Chuck, I don't see a flash.

Jessica, no, this is a new feature. Maybe you're thinking of something else?

James, I would never have noticed! So much easier to use the keyboard key than one on the screen.

We've had that for awhile, haven't we?

Jessica Jenney

Oh! I didn't understand. Rose you can now use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move from one image to the next in a gallery. But would anyone realize this?

It's like the "f" keys, Jessica.....some people use them all the time.

A lot of people don't know keystrokes.

For instance, on a PC, you can hold down the Control key and hit the plus sign several times to really see the artwork, or whatever, larger and larger.

Ctrl 0 takes it back to the default size.

exactly, Chuck, and I probably never will. I usually find out about them when i do one of those combinations by mistake...lol

I can go up and down with the arrow keys, but image to image, no.

Same with me, Louise. I'm not seeing a difference yet.

The arrow keys don't work on the artists web sites (yet?), if that's what you're trying to do.

Thanks, Chuck. I was trying both ways. Just tried it again here and it works. You just have to go through a couple screens to get to the individual image and then use the arrows. But, yes, faster doing it that way for sure!

Wow! that's great. Although it may have been there for ever because I never tried it before!

James B Toy

Gill, it hasn't been there forever because I tried it a couple weeks ago to see if it had been incorporated into the new designs, but it hadn't happened yet. Until yesterday when I noticed the image page layout had changed substantially (as of yesterday titles are now on the right, not the left). I tried the arrow keys this time and they worked! It's a feature I suggested months ago.

I think the new format leaves too much white space...... FAA should make the picture bigger and take out that extra white area..... i liked it better before.

Louise Reeves

No, Chuck, I was trying here. They don't go image to image.
