Why can't I put images in a password protected gallery and use it any way I want, within reason? Are there rules that say that I can only use a PWP gallery in a particular way?
Uploading and editing images is a very time-consuming process and many times I upload but am not able to edit at the same time. I may come back the next day or few days and edit some of the images, or add more to the pwp gallery.
I also use a pwp gallery when I find images in other galleries that need to be switched out. In fact I have another pwp gallery for that particular purpose. Sure hope there is not a limit on the number of pwp galleries I can have in my portfolio at one time!
I have tried to find the answer, and others have also, to why private images are showing in the FAA weekly update newsletter, but I think I can answer the question now.
Curiosity made me follow my own activity, so, as a watchlist member, those uploaded images are shown in the weekly update as "new images posted by watchlist members." Even though uploaded images land in the 'images' section of my website, I think these images should only be considered for use in the newsletter after they are edited and added to galleries. After all, on upload, if you don't add a title, tag and, I think, description as well, faa will not let you post the image. Try it, it will automatically stop and notify you that you need to add something, or forgot to add something. So even though, technically, I uploaded the images to faa, without editing, which includes putting them in a gallery, and in my case a pwp gallery, faa won't accept them. So, hypothetically, if faa won't accept them until I add this essential information, how can they be considered new uploads if when adding this info I also put them in a pwp at the same time. Thus, they never become available for public viewing at that moment and not until I later take them out of the pwp. Clear as mud, right?
I have belabored this topic enough, so will close this discussion.
