Sponsorship Does It Work?

there is no sponsored page. you get a link on the third line of the first page of results. logged out you will see one person at a time, until its your turn again. it can work and it does work depending how many people took that word. if you chose something like new york, or landscape - you'll be in a long, long line before your seen.

but there are no logins and so forth. and the link helps the site more than it helps you. its a foot in the door for you.

right now though you would be better off adding more keywords overall and advertising the work.

ok got it, I just found it odd. that soon after I sponsor, I goto that link in another browser and im not there.

i don't know what link your getting. there is no link. it said done or something like that.

This is what our faa owner Sean has to say about New Search Feature . he wrote that 'closed' discussion over 4 years ago when he was posting aka Brian but we all know now his name is Sean . . just in case that link may be 'broken' at some time in the future for reference and easy reading here is an excerpt from Sean's comments about how the sponsor page works ::


"Simply pick the keywords that are most important to you and your artwork, post a link to the appropriate page, and your images will then appear on the third row of the search page. It's that simple.

Please note - this only affects the third row of images. All other images on the search results pages will continue to be ordered based on FAA's existing criteria... and no, I can't disclose what that is right now.

Note - there will inevitably be a lot of members trying to promote the most popular search terms (e.g. landscape paintings, sunset photos, etc.).

In cases where there are a lot of members posting links to the same search pages, we'll randomly choose images from those artists and then rotate them on the third row. Each time the page is refreshed or a new visitor views the page, the images will rotate randomly." end quote . . . .

The sponsorship worked just fine for the people its intended to work for.

It works fine. When you sponsor a search page, your art that has the keywords corresponding to that search will appear randomly on the third line. If you refresh the page you will see a different set. After a few refreshes it should become apparent how many others have also sponsored it . The fact that you didn't see your work on the third row only shows that there are more than 4 works that have been sponsored. Try it again and refresh your browser. I usually hit f5 to do that. As to the value of being on the third line even some of the time as opposed to never being on the first page I will leave it to others to judge.

ok yeah i noticed a rotation of sorts when refreshed

When you go into the "Behind the Scenes", "marketing", Sponsorship..... it says to add the keywords.... firstname,lastname. So I guess that would be adding into the tags, in my case linda,brody...... but that does not seem to work, as the linda and brody do not appear together in the key words, but are separated. So I am seeing things like: linda photographs... later, brody photographs. This does not make sense to me.

There are only three featured positions available per page. If multiple artists have posted links to the digital art page, then the three featured positions will be randomly filled with images from those artists. The images in the featured positions will change each time that the page is refreshed or visited by a new visitor.

I just took that from the sponsorship popup under 'additional information'
