Studio Update (all But Finished)

The power company still has to hook me up and fill in the trench and the track lights need

I'll start moving in this weekend (I hope) and I have scheduled a Grand Opening on January 11, 2015 from 1-5 PM. Anyone near Asheville is welcome!

Thank you everyone. I hope each of you can have a studio one day that makes you happy. The blue of this one matches our cottage across the driveway. It is back in the woods, 0.2 miles off the road but I have room for 4-6 cars to park. I am so excited to get the power hooked up so I can move in!

John, from the color to the setting, everything about your new studio looks fantastic. And it went up so fast!

Send those workers to Sedona. It took two years to put up a Taco Bell here (which promptly closed). It took six years to build seven miles of road ("well it was very rocky!" yeaaaah, pfffft!). Kitchen renovations -- nine months. We NEED people who know how to swing a hammer!

You know, Dan, we lived in Mesa, AZ for 29 years and always thought the same thing. For the new look everything has, it takes an inordinate amount of time to get anything done! The Loop 202 around Phoenix was a "temporary tax" that was to go away when the loop was done in 1999... yeah, right. It took several more years to finish. The last stretch of I-10 that runs from California to Florida? Finished in Phoenix finally in the late 1980s (started under Eisenhower). We built a house there - supposed to take 3-4 months; took 9.

I am grateful for my builder, who just so happens to be the one who built our house and who also lives next door. He is great and hires great, local workers.

Oh good, it's not just me. I'm spoiled from spending 20 years in Southern California. It was like "Was that skyscraper there yesterday?" And road paving...! They can re-pave 30 miles of the 405 with no traffic disruption because you get to drive on it while they're paving it.
