it really depends who your friends are. if they are all in japan then you should match the times they should be home. if its all times, it shouldn't make a huge difference. if you use hashtags, then bots will spread it out for you. i can't track the results, and can't tell if they are clicking or not, so it's impossible to know if its really working. other than people favoriting it, and or buying it right after i post.

The bots work 24/7.

I'd say if you are marketing in the U.S. - it might depend on what you are putting up - if it's sort of southwest themed - then southwest daylight time - perhaps after 8 a.m. The same for any other theme - choose the time when you think those folks are awake - and don't worry about it being "when they are home" social media is always up - and people are almost always on.

Most of my followers seem to be in the easter or central time zones, so I tend to post during those times, which helps since I am in the east. I do like Facebooks option of letting you schedule your posts for when I am at work and can't log on or some such.

Its pretty cool actually because I did a little research, and most are reports on this are conflicting but they have certain parts that seem to be the same. I sell everywhere, not just the US, so I think I will try what works globally along with strictly US, and see what happens.

i would assume people look at it during lunch and when they come home from work, but that varies across the country. i do it over the course of a day. mostly because it bores me to tears to do it. but even if you get someone, you only have 5 works here right now, and even if you lasso them, they won't stay long and may not go back if you have so few.

Yes Mike, I agree with what you say. I'm not here to sell though, or would be putting more up. I decided to revamp my whole business and work around other things that make sense to me. I should be ready to revamp in a couple months, then maybe i will add more here and market from here, only certain things though.

Thanks for the link Judy

I know this for fact. I post most of my stuff and comment on others works in morning hours as that is when I have the time to do it. I get way more looks, views, and comments if I POST later in hours from noon to 5 (central time). Its that simple. For twitter, pinterest, stumble, etc I watch what my wife does and peak hours for her to be on those are around 4 - 8pm. Hope that helps.

Thanks Robert and everyone above. This is a help for anyone, including me that understand social media is a huge part of promotions, but had no clue that you also do better at certain times and days.

Our highest views and Likes on FB are in the late evening, even until midnight. The later views may be from the west coast. Typically highest views would be when folks get to work and check their accounts, then again mid afternoon during breaks, and again after the dinner hour.

also keep in mind that the times we mention reflect the time zone we are in. so someones dinner time may be someone else's breakfast.

Also, make sure, if fitting, to use a #hashtag with the name of the city the photo was taken in....there are accounts/bots that automatically re-tweet tweets with specific cities mentioned.

There are states out there that will tell you what percentage of emails are opened in the morning, vs the afternoon vs the evening.

Email has progressed to more people using it through out the day, but I can remember that when I first stated using email campaigns, the professionals said most people open their email at or around 7 pm east coast time. The second most frequent time was 7 am east coast time. However, I have not seen recent states on those figures but I would assume that with email that has changes at least somewhat.

When I fist started trying to master Twitter I exchanged a few emails with some of the so called twitter experts and they pretty much said the same thing. One thing I read on best way to use Twitter was to post tweets both in the morning and the evening. They were saying that some people are only on Twitter in the morning just before they go to work and the fist hour after the get to work. Then there was a different group that were only one in the evening and they checked just before going getting off work and in the evenings after work.

What I got out of talking and reading about the best times was post in the morning and then again in the evening. So that is what I try to do.

The big thing now that they are talking about is "engaging" with people on twitter or other social media. It is much easier to engage people when they are on line tweeting or posting to FB the same time you are.

eBay states will support the evening times for the most people online. The largest percentage of transactions are closed between 6:30 and 9:30 east coast time. That would suggest that is the time that most shoppers are on line. The best day is Wednesday and the second best is Sunday.

Remember there are various services (free or charge) that will allow you to create a tweet and autopost it at a given time you pick.

More excellent advice for all of as above, thanks.
Joshua, thanks for the additional advice. Do you recommend any certain services or how to find them on Google?
