Help - No New Aw V2.0 For Gallery Accounts? And Other Issues.

How come there isn't a new version of the AW sites for gallery accounts? Or am I just not finding it?
-- mary ellen anderson

PS I also have these questions abut page sponsoring. I've sent question to tech support but this is starting to hold me up in getting my updating done. Can anyone help?

1. Do buyers ever sort on cards, framed prints, and other types of products. I can understand that less artist do these so if someone does browse on a product type it would help, I just can't imagine why anyone would shop that way here. Everyone has the same products (or the few exceptions like someone just selling card wouldn't be much). So skeptical of the real practicality of sponsoring links filtered by product type but see a lot of people doing it.

2. I can't figure out how we're suppose to build link sponsors for words with apostrophes in them like Mother's Day.

3. I can't figure out how we're suppose to build link sponsors for words with less than 3 characters, like state abbreviations or school and teams like KU (university of Kansas).

4. Is there a way to know the traffic counts of the other FAA sites. We have to do separate sponsors for every domain of course but are they used by buyers? Again, like question 1 building page sponsors takes considerable effort and I don't want to do them if buyers don't use them. What sites besides FAA do you sponsor links on. I assume we'd want to do pixels but not sure there is much to gain doing fineartinternational or some of the others.

5. Is there a limit to the number of sponsor links we can have? If I'm going to run into a ceiling I'd like to know before I get there.

Mary Ellen,

The thinking eventually boils down to images link more directly, should read fewer clicks for the viewers,
to the sales sheets. Adding galleries as where the viewers begin to look adds a click, in fact two clicks.

As people click through they seem to drop out at a higher and higher rate with more clicks,
and then presumably fewer sales. So galleries is not an option.

Again I am just boiling down the messages on this I have seen.

Dave,
I'm talking about accounts that are set up as a gallery here. I have a physical gallery with an account here in addition to my artist account. But there isn't a version 2 option I can find on the gallery account. For the artist account it popped up automatically the first time you entered, but I'm not finding anything on the gallery login. I'd just as soon have them both the same format to work with.

Mine is up and running.

Well I should say it would be if I wanted it up and running. There are still so many problems with Version 2 I have no intention of using it until they work them out.

Millions of possible shoppers still using older versions of IE are still not able to access some key features.

I don't know how many other bugs are still to be worked out. But I am not risking my Christmas sales period on beta software.

I love the software but it really was never that big a deal for me anyway. The old version was and is working just fine.

Sean will get it right, I have no doubt of that.

I tinkered with it a little bit and I had my IT rep at web.com look at it and he suggested that we not get into it until after the Christmas. Of course I had already made that decision.

Floyd, are you a gallery login?

I understand the IT issues with new versions and my own learning curve, but I can't even find the option to choose v1 or v2 on my gallery account.

I own a tax preparation firm and had wanted to get this squared away before tax season.

I also have these questions: trying not to bother Abbie directly with this stuff if we know because of her pup Hannah on how to do page sponsoring.

I have both a gallery and an artist log in. There is no difference that I see once I log in.

I have not tried to log into my Version 1 on the artist account. I am not ever sure it renewed the last time to be honest. I don't rember getting a notice.

I do everything in my Gallery account now. It is actually called FASGallery. I just set it up so it shows my name so I was a real person instead of a business name in the threads and where all else it shows.

Each image in my gallery shows the name of the artist. Except my own work, it shows my wife's name.

I guess I did not renew the artist account.

Sort of funny. All the images are there, only 56, but more then the free account 25. And they are all for sale but I can not log into the AW for that account.

I guess I should just convert it to a non premium account. I thought I was going to do something with it but it is too much work to manage two accounts and I am getting to lazy. lol

I think I will leave it there just to irritate the guys that hate the dormant accounts. Never know it may still generate some sales.

"5. Is there a limit to the number of sponsor links we can have? If I'm going to run into a ceiling I'd like to know before I get there. "

This is the only question I can help you with.

There is no limit on how many sponsor links you can have, but you can only have 10 on anyone page of your web site. I have them ten per page spread out on several pages of my webpage. The problem is I put them on a websie that I have pretty much dismantled. It was the first build you own webpage I ever did. Man is it bad...

I put them on there just to practice and see how it worked and then that was the furthest I got. It is on my agenda to have them moved over to one of my more professional looking sites.

Well for me it is the galley account I can't convert to v2. Can't find the option that allows you to select.

I too have the time to dismantle and redo going on.

If you have any link sponsors with apostrophes and less than 3 characters don't move them. You can't recreate them.

Floyd,

Can you private message me a link to your website. I want to have a visual feel
for how the sponsor links look. It has nothing to do with how they look on your site.
I need to see them for my planning.

I will PM you to make it a breeze for you to get back to me with a reply.

Thanks,

Dave
