Having Trouble Posting Images Larger Than 5.5mb

I have been trying to post images all day today 10/29/14 and have only been able to get images under 5.5MB to post. The images that won't post are: 7.24 - 11.3MB. They are all saved as JPG. and Baseline "Standard".

When the larger images fail to post, the posting page generally refreshes itself just as it was BEFORE I attempted to post. One time the page showed an error message stating that the file size was too big. The file was only 7.42MB in size. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong - or if there is a problem with the fineartamerica website?

Sounds like its on your end. Maybe your service provider? I've had not trouble, uploading several large files a day.

Are you trying to upload one at a time? Or multiple uploads?

are you sure it's a jpg - and not something saved as one? it could be something going on behind the scenes here as well. try another browser or erasing the cache. i doubt its related, but it doesn't hurt to try.

and make sure you only have 1 window open, and don't have other versions of the site open.

I just tried a different browser and still had the same problem. I'm only uploading one image at a time. My upload internet speed is approx .5MB/Second.

This time it said: "OOPS... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT. Your IMAGE is too large. The maximum size limit is 25.0 MB. Try uploading a smaller image."

The image size I tried to upload was 7.42MB. It is listed as this size in Photoshop and on the hard drive (windows explorer). The browser cache has been cleared.

Any more ideas?

I've had that issue on another site where the maximum size was 1200 pixels wide, which was the size of the image I was trying to upload. I had this crazy idea and saved it under a different name and for some reason, that worked. Other times I get odd messages from sites that don't make sense, I will just sit tight for a few hours or try again the next day. I don't like getting frustrated.

I have managed to get it working for the time being! Thanks to everyone who was helping me!

Another computer on my network was "updating" and taking up some of my bandwidth.

My sincere apologies to everyone who took the time to help me. I should have checked for this kind of problem. It was taking around 11 minutes to upload and it must have been timing out.
