Twitter Boot Camp

I've reluctantly decided to get active on Twitter and - eventually - use it to market photos.

I need someone to follow me, so I can experiment and figure out how it all works - RT, retweets, mentions, hastags, all that stuff. Probably best if it's people like me who are unfamiliar with it but want to start. Of course I'll follow you in return.

Anyone interested?

Find me: @FJCPhoto .... I also have a private twitter account by invitation only ... those are my buyers and clients and I use it like email marketing in 140 characters or less.

Frank,

I don't know who "Gitomer" is, but you gotta love this:

"... I tweeted three times in the first 24 hours. At the end of the first day I had more than 300 followers..."

LOL

Sometimes people embed the photo in the tweet - sometimes just the link. Why not include the photo?

Too much of anything is not a good thing, and that includes images in tweets. After a while, people get blind to them, so I find it's better to sprinkle them in intermittently. They get more notice that way. Plus, there are times where you can put out a tweet, but may not have access to the photo file (posting from your phone, for example). At least the link goes out. :)

Yes, thanks. Once I figure out how it works, and if I need it.

Thanks again Christi. Now I just need to figure out how to start getting some followers.

I tried walking around town wearing a sandwich sign saying "FOLLOW ME" but things got kind of weird.

Okay, I just went into my twitter account and confirmed anyone who happened to magically appear. But I don't see anywhere to add you, Jim. I will follow you if I can figure out how to add you.
