New: Turn Your Flickr Photos Into Beautiful Works Of Art

New competition??

"We’re excited to announce a new opportunity to share your beautiful photos with the world: Flickr Wall Art. Now you can translate your passion for photos into wall-ready works of art and decorate your home or give the gift to your friends and family. "

Frank, does that make them another POD site? If so, "threads about other POD sites are no longer allowed here on the FAA forum", I've been told. Guessing this will be closed. Good to know tho, thanks!

So far it's prints on photo paper that Flickr members can buy for their own artwork ... I don't see anything yet about selling your photography as art on Flickr. So, yes, I did think twice before I posted this but did to share with everyone what's going on out there. If this gets closed I understand.

Don't speak of other pod sites. If FAA is to remain competitive it would benefit them to here how other artists feel about them and why. I use many other pod sites and not because anyone is better but solely for better exposure and I surely did not go to them because I read it in a forum. Makes me wonder how long I can link to them in my bio...

The Peta Pixel article seems to suggest it's not going to be a POD site. Not sure about the prices, either. I'll look more this evening when I can access my Flickr site.

I assume you can only print your own flickr photos, I certainly hope it doesn't mean everyone can print everyone elses photos.

I haven't looked into it, Paul, but I suspect you should be able to turn that off like you can with sharing in general.

Flickr is NOT going to allow anyone to just print off any photographic image they please.

Just looked on my flickr page, it seems you can only print your own images, which is a good thing :) . However none of my images can be printed because of their size, I usually only upload "reduced size" images to flickr.

Seems to be more expensive than FAA's owner purchases.

Ditto on that, Paul. I normally stick with the 800x600 size range, or maybe just a slight bit larger, but that's it.
