as soon as football started, the month has been slow, you can see it in the forums as well. it might be a coincidence, or everyone is at a harvest festival. sept was great, maybe they ran out of money. does anyone know when football will be over?
really that long? they play non stop for 2 or more months? right now nothing but sports is on tv right now. i think when that is more or less done, they will come back.
I hope a little thing called Christmas brings them back before the Superbowl.
But I agree it has been slow. I ended last pay period and started the new one with a bunch of sales. But it has slowed down most of last week. Did pick up one yesterday and one today. Maybe that will prime the pump.
stores were hoping for that in sept when santa came out early, still in swim trunks and a mighty tan. and it seemed to have helped some with sales. now it's october, i guess they tossed santa back into a closet for a bit, to get that going. where i was getting regular sales in sept, now they are coming in every few days. stat counter is seeing some activity showing me people are looking at prints and it caught one shopping cart - but no sale attached. maybe the weather turned nicer for a chunk of the country/world.
Pro football lasts all the way until February 1, 2015, when the Super Bowl is scheduled to be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
I got a bot swam the other day from New York, but otherwise, I'm only getting like three views a day from non-bots and it's been like that for about 3 weeks for me.
my other site is also slow. while it was never a raging river over there. it did come in, and now it's more like an annoying leak with a sale here and there. i always equate the sales with forum activity. if the artists aren't here, neither are the buyers.
i can't blame it on collections yet, though they do pop up too easily now. i was getting sales - maybe more sales, when they came up. right now there is something else going on. everything is slow, including other sites. oct last year, in the start was good, then the govt did it's thing and it was terrible. i think this is a transitional period. where people had a buying urge from the summer in sept. and now oct, i don't know what they do in oct. i think halloween will get in the way and fall tree viewing. doesn't explain the other half of the world though. even views are down.
Me thinks you are blaming "sports" rather than your ability to market your art. I know why my stuff don't sell - but I don't blame anything or anyone but my inability market my own art.
me thinks i'm not doing anything differently than i was when i was getting the sales. and that the patterns i've seen thus far hold true. if there are no eyes to see your effort, you don't get the sales.
Ok I just learned a new word that applies to my drone image. I added that word. I have the auto tweet on so an image went out with no hashtags. It got retweeted by the drone manufacturer and went out to 20,000 more people. Some favorited it. I get lots of views. How hard is that?
For the same period last month and last year I am seeing about a 19% increase in traffic to my two largest non-FAA store. I am also seeing sales following that trend.
This suggests to me that there are buyers out there shopping and spending money. More then there was last year at this time.
For the same time in the previous pay period on FAA I am seeing a down turn of a whopping 36% in sales. I have no idea about visitors because I don't pay any attention to how many meaningless bots visit. That's same period last moth.
For the same period last year, I am at about 75% of what I did in that period, with 8 days or 25% remaining in the pay period. So I am right on track to match same period of last year.
However, I have all but stopped marketing FAA and I have not made a new upload in several weeks, maybe over a month. Contrary to that I have been both adding product and advertising the two other stores. Not a lot more then in the past Even with adding some new things I have taken down a lot of older things so the net results is less product.
I don't go through the recent sales much, but I just happened to last week when Green Bay was playing Minnesota on Thrsday night in the NFL. Saw no less than three Green Bay Packers item sell. Football may increase sales... if you have any football images. I've tried to market my non football stuff to football fans. If you know what a pick six is in football, I was hoping to at least get some feedback on this one, marketed on Facebook as, "In honor of Tony Romo, how about a PICK 6?"
But then folks would need to know this is a Pickens Railroad loco, #6 and that the Pickens reporting marks are PICK, so it would only work with people who know football and railroads!
Every time college football starts, I get some folks sniffing around these shots
Expensive tailgating platforms around the South Carolina football stadium in Columbia. One of my Facebook friends swears she is going to buy a print. I guess the two straight losses put a damper on her plans!
