Do You Think My Art Would Sell?

I like doing graphite and colored pencil works on paper, and so far I've uploaded two of a few that I would upload.
Do you think it's any good? I would only be selling the originals I think.

So far as an artist, I have not ever sold one piece of art..not sure why though ^

James.. welcome to FAA... ;O)

Yes.. your work is good. Will your work sell... debatable ;O) What actually sells is rarely predictable.

For a couple of reasons.... subject matter... and marketing.

Regarding subject matter... look at the recently sold page.. there are many things there that I would never have expected would be there ;O) so you just never know. But there are a few truisms... like do you think that a stranger would like the subject enough to hang it on their wall, or is the competition for that subject saturated [ puppies, cats, horses, flowers etc ].
How does your work stand out among others with similar style and subject? Why would they buy yours instead of theirs...

Marketing... just so you know FAA does not do any marketing of your artwork, that is all on you. They do a really good job of getting your name and images onto google so that helps, but you need to bring eyeballs to your galleries simple as that [ search the forum for marketing and you will get some good advice on doing that ]

Also just incase you weren't aware you can offer your originals for sale here as well. FAA will not sell them for you but they will allow customers to contact you and you would take it from there. No commission on their part.

There is also a pecking order for search results. Those that have sold before are show first. Visits, comments, likes etc have some weight as well but not as much as previous sales.

Also, be aware that if you want your work critiqued you need to ask for it, and be prepared if you do ask ;O)

Again welcome and good luck.

I love your work James! You just need to believe in yourself and do a search here, on the internet, and keep looking at Discussions on how to market your work.

Yes it will, but you really need to have it in as many venues as possible to find your market, it may not be here, so if you don't sell here don't get depressed there are many other markets with different customer bases, try them all!

i like your avatar, it sticks out, though it's for the wrong season. anything you have can sell as long as you can find the market. you have to find people, and that's the hard part. not selling them as prints makes you more invisible, it limits your search, and you'll be in the back of the search if at all. you should increase your price for the original though, that's way to cheap.

you'll need more work than that however since there isn't enough variety to get people staying in the store. if you scan them in larger (a higher dpi). you can sell larger images.

Gald to be here I think ^^ and thanks. I think marketing has been my problem, esp on society6/etsy.

I've been having some financial issues so I'm selling my originals cheaper than I would have otherwise to get up some extra income ^^ I guess I should have them as prints too though

I would like to hear anyone's critique, since these are my earliest works I know my ability has increased a bit, so nothing that is said will be taken offense at, unless it's just completely un-useful like on deviant art with people saying "It's just bad there ya know" :)

And thanks guys :) Yes that is my turkey ^^ I originally thumb-nailed it in charcoal, I would have put that up but it's kinda small.
I know it's the wrong season, but I was just trying to find something of high resolution at the moment and it sorta stuck out ^^

Only problem I face with size, is that my scanner is a 8.5x11, for the bigger images I have to scan them twice from different directions, and splice the scans together, I could take clear pictures if that would be better. I'm not used to pricing for sure lol

if you use a panorama program they can align it for you.

the only marketing suggestion i have for you is to find a way to scan that turkey at a large enough size.
