Your Image Is Too Large. Anyone Else Getting This Upload Error?

I received this message on three upload attempts. One before and now twice since the site maintenance.
OOPS... SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT
Your IMAGE is too large. The maximum size limit is 25.0 MB. Try uploading a smaller image.

My images are less than 25MB - one was 17.4MB and you can see the size of the latest attempt. The "system" seems to know the correct size until the end of the upload - then the error message appears. Sooo...anyone else having issues? Should I try another computer? Or just wait 'til later?

Thanks,

~ Bill

Have you tried a different browser?

Jeffrey - what does the browser have to do with the size of the upload - when it plainly says that the size is less than 25 mg. ???

I've had the same error in the past and by switching out browsers solved the issue.

Everything I've uploaded thus far (124 images) has been with FireFox. I'll give it a try with IE.

Thanks,

See what happens, Bill. It could be a temp glitch, too. You're the first to report today size issues.

since the black out, i can't upload, and it doesn't understand the format. it went to 100, thought about it for a long time, then i found it trying again, only it showed zero percent with a graph at 1/8th complete. something is going on.

Hi Bill, I have had that with images less than 25MB...seems to happen when the site itself is slow, when the upload is in danger of timing out. The most annoying is when it happens after adding keywords and descriptions etc. I usually just do it later or the next day and everything is fine.

No but now I am getting 502 Bad Gateway The server returned an invalid or incomplete response. And the social buttons are not working and three uploads today have only one view but are being tweeted repeatedly so something is amiss more than routine maintenance.

I am notifying Tech Support now of these reported anomalies.

Update: Tech Support is looking into this.

Yup - just failed with IE. And from seeing the other remarks, I think my best solution for now - it to go out to dinner and do the uploads later or tomorrow. I've got two frames to finish for two Abstract pieces I'm exhibiting at the Art League of Ocean City - November gallery exhibit. They need to be dropped off tomorrow afternoon - so, Lord knows, I've got plenty to do.

Thanks for the comments, everyone, and for the follow-up, Jeff.

Problem solved.

Ahhhh...it appears that break for dinner did the trick. I just successfully uploaded that 21MB image file that had generated the error message. The upload was visibly much faster than the earlier attempts. Because of the other comments I doubt it was my (Verizon) DSL, which is always a possibility.

Now, I'll try a 24.5MB to test the limit. :)

OK, a second upload worked perfectly. I was a bit "worried" because the FAA system showed the file upload size as 25.06MB (my file size is 24.475MB). But it worked flawlessly. Here's hoping everyone else is now back to normal.

Here's the "nearly" 25MB image. I drove through some farm country today...

Same upload problems for me. Just finished an attempt. Uploads 100% and then flips back to the upload screen like nothing happened. I am sure it will resolve itself eventually.

there's a bit of lag, but so far it's uploading ok again.

My upload problem is similar to Dan's. Except mine don't make it to 100%. I get somewhere between 85-95% and then it goes back to the choose an image to upload screen.

And I just noticed that after the upload fails, if I go to any other "behind the scenes" screen, I see the "image is too large" message as well.
