Images After Months Not Indexed

I did inform support about this issue but I wanted to make a forum post because perhaps I'm doing something wrong and a forum member have the answer to this question.

Over the past months I've noticed a small drop in revenue even though I've added significantly more graphics to my portfolio. I thought this might be because I didn't have galleries so people might get confused or can't find a particular image. So, i started a bit organizing. I started searching for my graphics and to my surprise a lot of them are not even indexed.

I publish a lot of patent art work in several different colors. Most or all of them have the exact same keywords so I would imagine they would all show up in the same search result.

Here is an example: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/cornet-patent-drawing-from-1901-light-blue-aged-pixel.html

If I select/click the "cornet patent" tags (right - hand - bottom side of the screen) I get taken to a screen displaying all "cornet patents". It shows 5 different colors for the same graphic. However, I published 7 different colors. All have the exact same keywords.

The remaining two not indexed:
1) http://fineartamerica.com/featured/cornet-patent-drawing-from-1901-vintage-aged-pixel.html Published June 23rd, 2014
2) http://fineartamerica.com/featured/cornet-patent-drawing-from-1901-blue-ink-aged-pixel.html Published July 21st, 2014

Does anybody else have this problem? When should they be indexed? I've noticed this with a lot of my artwork and it is a bit worrisome. How can somebody find the artwork if it isn't even indexed?

Thank you for any advice in advanced.

i don't know if they are all there, but there are certainly enough there to attract attention if someone wanted one. but you shouldn't depend on the search, it's better to advertise out.

Thank you Mike. I've just noticed there is already a thread in regards to disappearing images. After a bit of digging I found out.

Published images in my Fine Art Account account - 3651
Published images on my Artist Website - 2697

Missing images: 954

I hope this issue gets fixed. I'm pretty bummed out about it.

Thanks for raising the issue again AP - I just checked mine. Looks like 319 images are missing from my artists website when compared to FAA. No idea which ones are missing but I am so glad I decided to press the FAA exit button. I believe one is better off with your own site and use FAA for what it was built to begin with - a company to complete orders and all the things that come with it. I even may change that if I find something better - the only thing that keeps me for not quitting is the preview of the photography prints - I see this as a great feature when a customer can see what they purchase. It will take some time to upload the pictures but I am getting there slowly but surely.

Good light and happy photo making!

Thanks for your reply Juergen. I believe it's just a matter of fixing this issue since many people complain about the same.
954 Graphics that's more than a month of work for me. :( I'm confident they will look at the issues and it will be sort it out.

As for having my own site. Yes, already done!!! :) The problem with this is getting the traffic which Fine Art has.

I have my own website for years too but got stuck on the lazy - it's so much easier to upload at FAA and then spread the word around. If one advertises and spreads the word from our own websites one is better off in the long run. I did a lot of advertising throughout my social network which included advertisement of my photography, other artists work and FAA of course. I still do this as time and schedule allows. If I would have gone through my own website only 50% of all marketing I would be in better shape. It's true that FAA does a fine job getting traffic and ranking high on google but than you compete with many other artists. The FAA search is revamped 24/7 so nobody can really figure out what is going on. It appears it will now finally be fixed or another attempt will be made. It also bugs me that there is no easy way of knowing where a sale comes from here on FAA, I mean in terms of how an art collector found an image and then hit the purchase button. We also build an email list for FAA versus our own. There are a lot of negatives that I have realized are not acceptable to me any more - unfortunately those were always present but it took some time to click and as I mentioned: I am lazy in nature :-) Still love FAA and I am thankful for what they have built to provide opportunities for us artists - they really have done a lot and built a great platform but it's time for me to use it for what it is meant to be and do even more of what FAA preaches: Do your own marketing, drive traffic to your site ... just gotta do it smarter :-)

Yes, I agree with you.

I'm with 20 or so other agencies (selling different art) and I tell you I'm happy I've found Fine Art America. I can tolerate a bug here and there but the main reason I like Fine Art is I get paid fairly.

Even though I've finished my website, a lot of work has to be done in promoting/advertising and making clients aware that I even exist. I wish there were more hours in a day.
Regardless, stick in there Juergen. I'm sure the issues will be fixed.
