Your 7/16 and 7/24 payment will be paid 9/15. Payments are on the 15th of each month after the 30-day waiting period for any customer returns.

30 days later would be 8/16 and 8/24, but since it has passed the 8/15 payday, it will then be paid 9/15.

Meanwhile, congratulations on your sales. That's impressive so early!

Congrats on the sale. I just made my first two sales and am discussed at the payment process here @ FineArtAmerica. I feel like I am being taken advantage of as an artist. They just made $200+ on me, I get maybe $35 and it will take 2 months? Might as well invest $40 in a rothIRA and get my money out in 40 years. It would be more worth it than posting images on here and waiting for a payment.

And how much would you have made on those sales without FAA, Joshua? Or would you even have sales to complain about? It's all about perspective, my friend.

The average time for a business to pay it's invoices is 60 days in the UK, I would think it would be similar in the US. So FAA payment terms seem fair enough to me, if the sale is a surprise then I obviously can't claim I need the money right now.

Joshua, if you are only getting $35 for two prints, then you set your prices too low. FAA's cut is clearly indicated. YOU determine the mark-up, i.e, what YOUR cut is.

Spoiled much?
If you're miffed about the amount of money you made, that's on you. Mark up your prices more if you want more.
As far as waiting two months, every place I've worked pays you for the previous month's work. Tack on FAA's 30-day return policy and you have a two month waiting time.
It makes complete sense to me. I see no reason to be impatient. Use the time to make more artwork and promote yourself.
You should be happy you sold your images, not weeping over invoices.
Like April (with an exceptionally amazing name, I might add) said, it's all about perspective.

I agree, if you are not happy with the amount you made then change your markup.

I wouldn't be too mad about it Joshua - you'll get your money in time. Just be happy you got a sale on FAA (congrats BTW)! It makes sense with the 30 day money-back guarantee and the fact that they pay out on the 15th of every month.

In the end you're getting the same amount of money whether you paid now or later. As others have said you can easily raise your prices if you don't think you're getting enough. FAA makes that really easy.

Joshua - as others have said, you set the markup, in dollars (not percentages like all other sites) and they are way low compared to most on here. For example - I just sold a 36" print yesterday. My markup is $155 - I made $155 + it was metal so I got the commission for the material. Your 36" markup is $50 or $55... no one to blame but yourself.

FAA didn't necessarily "Make" $200 anyway. They have people to pay for materials, people to pay for printing. It doesn't magically get printed and end up in a box. That said, as others have stated well above you are in the driver's seat for what you get paid.

And I'd rather wait two months than have the customer return it 29 days later and end up owing FAA for their advance payment to me. At least FAA doesn't make you wait until you get to X amount in your account to get paid at all. I think the existing payment set-up is more than fair.

What's that phrase? Stupid is as stupid does?

You set your prices. You are the one who harmed yourself by setting them so low.

And now you've maligned the site because you're unable to understand that.
