Malware

If I can't figure out how to get this Malware poop-up stuff off my Mac I'm gonna throw it out int he street.

Seaching Google for removal seems to much like gimmicks and likely it would add more.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I've been using AdBlock (free) and it has stopped pop-ups completely.

Yes, malewarebytes.

The pop-ups could also just be add on from a toolbar .

I got the Malwarebytes free version yesterday and spent 3 hours finding all the tentacles of PassShow malware. I had to keep re-starting my laptop to check, and there were so many different warez connected to this PassShow malware. My audio on my fairly new computer (Toshiba Satellite C50) was sounding tinny, even with the external speakers I have with a sub-woofer. So I went hunting for an updated HD audio driver for RealTek audio. I made the mistake of downloading the driver from a bad site (I finally went to Toshiba's site, as I should have done in the beginning). Downloading that driver infected my machine. And I should know better!

Anyway, Malwarebytes will get the PassShow malware off (or whatever you're dealing with) BUT it will not take off ADWARE connected to the main malware. That you will have to get rid of piecemeal. Adware is more benign than malware. Check your Tools/Add-ons for starters and see if there's something there to disable.

Spybot Search and Destroy... it is free, I would not be without. Finds what everything else can not.
