New Here, Help!

Hey guys, Im new here. I am a photographer and stumbled across this site and thought I would see how my art did on here, but I am so confused. I have already had over 1000 views since I registered earlier, but no sales. I dont know if I am pricing too high or what. Any advice on succeeding here would be greatly appreciated.

have you advertised at all?

wait you've only been here for a day, your not getting a sale just like that. how can you possibly get a 1000 views already? you have 52 images, and it takes 24 hours till you get into the search. beyond that if you type marketing help in the search box lots of things will be listed.

you'll also want more keywords.

keep in mind every tweet you send you will automatically get bot hits and maybe a few curious lookers

also be aware that they have strict printing standards,

Sell Art Online
this one is rather noisy up close, they probably won't print it because of that. make sure the images are clean, nice and good looking up close. or they will stop the sale, make you fix it, and if you can't you'll lose the sale. just letting you know before you upload more, because finding out later is sort of heart stopping and then like stomping.

Relax a bit. It's gonna take time.

Kathleen,

You're kidding right? You've been here ALMOST a full day and no sales? That's not how it works here and you should know that. There are no guarantees that anything will sell here. It may takes monts and many more images before you see any sales,if at all.

I think you have a good eye for composition, but you need many, many more images for this to work. Look around and do some research and see who is you competition and see how you stand up to them. Then make the decision if you want to get into this and join($30),still no guarantees, and see how you do. This "business" is not for everyone, really not for most,

Kathleen,

I agree with Rich's comment completely. Sales are sparce here because of the abundance of work, but it is a cost effective site from where I am sitting.

The noise in your image may be the result of expansion in Photoshop or the result of multiple compression into JPEG. If you are unaware, multiple JPEG compression will degrade any image. You should save your original edit in TIFF format, which stores all data without compression. You can then store as a JPEG, at any smaller size. Expansion will also degrade the image quality, creating noise.

um, OK, I think the it takes more than a day on the site to make a sale thing has been addressed. (and I am sure it will be even more as the FAA world awakens.)

Anyhoo, price wise you are on the low to VERY low side on pricing. Especially on your larger work.

Welcome to the mix

Welcome Kathleen! I'm wondering how you got that many views already too! That is remarkable for being here a day. That said you are going to need some patience in the sales department...unless maybe you are incredibly lucky :)

Welcome, Kathleen. It took me three months to get a sale, and I'm not a big seller here, but I have a day job and don't advertise. Be patient and read what's been offered.

By the way, this is MY cup of tea. I'm not sure how many of us out there like this kind of image, but I do....;-)

Loved that one as well...

.... the reason she had over 1000 views is because she got involved with mutual promotional groups....
