What Does Photography Mean To You ?

I use it to capture a reference picture so I can draw it better, kinda like this

I have spent my lifetime perfecting how to make great photography, and to put my audience where my subject is - pictures people listen to.

In other words, I have over 100 awards for my photography, but my greatest reward is when my simple moments make lasting impressions. Which I am told, to my surprise, has happened more than once.

Good! So, Anthony, what does photography mean to you, what does it do for you mentally?

Its freedom and it lets me express what I want. When Im out shooting photos thats the only things thats on my mind no stress its amazing and also creating amazing photos and art feels indescribable.

Great, I think I understand. When I was a child I was very shy, and pictures helped to to express my viewpoint and how I see the world. Is that it??

I am too lazy to write a dairy so I take photos to record things which are fascinating, inspiring or annoying to me.
I am too lazy to sketch before I paint, so I take photos to use for my paintings.
I am too lazy to write letters to friends so I take photos and email to them instead.

Time travel

Photography for me, is allowing the rest of humanity a small glimpse into my world.

Photography for me is capturing the magic of a moment in time with a picture that will make memories to last a lifetime.

A reason to leave the house and look forward to the next day.

Basically...
Photography is magic.

Not only does it allow me to capture what my eyes see, but what my eye sees! ~ pausing while you think that through ~... Along with digital manipulation, it allows me to create something that wasn't seen before, perhaps what i feel or long to express in a way that transcends the spoken word. It allows me to portray or convey... to lead one's eye to an idea or an ideal.

I love the ability, or capability of creating. Photography is one of the tools that allows this to happen. It allows you expression of the inner world as well as the outer world... A bird's eye or the mind's eye. It lets you record a memory, or create something worth remembering. It can be full of reality or imagination or even a combination of the two.

To create means you have a chance to move someone, influence people, develop skills, improve, inspire, teach, learn, entertain, inform, get attention, be recognized, gain admiration, do something for others, do something gratifying, and do something satisfying. Fortunately, in the arts most of those things are interchangeable and transferable between artistic expressions, not just photography. The thing to remember is that it could also be the first step to believing, and believing is what magic is about!
