Fallen Princesses

I found this series of photos on my FB feed today by Dina Goldstein. She has another series called "In the Dollhouse". I think that "Fallen Princesses" might disappear once Disney notices.

I'm glad you posted this as I certainly love the work she's doing.

Highly creative fine art photography, why should anyone have a problem with it ?

It seems to have been exhibited at some fairly high profile galleries

Cheers

I like it also Ian but I think the Disney Corp is rather protective of their brand. The Ken & Barbie series is pretty good too...I didn't provide a link but you can google that. I think I need to check out some of her other work now that I've noticed these two examples.

Wow! What outstanding work. I think if what she presents is a single work of fine art Disney will have a problem stopping this. Of course they have the lawyers.

These are wonderful, i agree with Kevin, and she may get away with it by categorizing them as "satire"...

Fair comment re Disney and brand protection Bob but I think it's probably been out there long enough for them to notice.

Very good find though and like yourself I'll try and check out her earlier work and in particular keep an eye out for any UK exhibitions of her work as there's certainly no substitute for seeing work of this standard in the flesh.

Beautiful work. I agree with Ed who agreed with Kevin. Art loves imitation or is that the other way around... and it looks to me as if it could fall under "satire." Many artists do it...

Some of those are pretty funny. Definitely satire. That won't stop Disney from trying to put the kibosh on it though. As far as "probably been out there long enough for them to notice", There's a lot of Disney stuff out there (and here) that very likely is not "approved". I read something once where Disney only allows fine art sales that they directly approve of.
