you should add a bio.

keep in mind that every bible except for the king james version and a few open source ones - are copyrighted. each bible writes it their own way, while i don't know if they ever sued, the text is copyrighted to their book. photographically speaking the embossing you added on the bottom just makes it look odd. and there is so very little orange there, it loses meaning. you have really no keywords and the description doesn't explain that there is writing there, just the location which doesn't matter because it's just a cross. no one will find this.

Photography Prints
i don't like the effect on this. and the font choices for these really don't go with the message. same as above about keywords.

Photography Prints
the font you used for this just makes it look goofy. it's the font you would use to advertise a bake sale. and the psalm - should be horizontal. the image itself is unprintable due to noise. i like the tree at the bottom, but not the blob of tree on the far right.

Art Prints
no one will ever find your work - all you said was sun and a few other words. at least at sunset, sunrise. you can't get lazy with descriptions or keywords they are very important. anyway, colorwise it's nice, it's not your typical orange sunset. however i don't like the bulbs in the trees, and it's not really that sharp, there's a bit of motion blur sided to side in the front, and it's a bit noisy. there is a line by the sun i would remove its out of place. i would rather have the tree and not the fence. or at least if the fence was there, i would clone out that rectangle and replace it with more fence.

Art Prints
this isn't bad, though i would fix the lens glare. i don't much like the valve sticking up, it breaks up the pattern.

Photography Prints
this is very dark, and of really nothing. the lighting is odd in it, the reflection looks muddy

Art Prints
the moon looks oddly large in here with the moon it's a different kind of image. that red light streak i would blend in though it's distracting.

Art Prints
the idea is nice, but it's rather dark and not all in focus, the background is also noisy, the sun looks cool though.

of the ones you have this is one of your better shots. it's brighter, sharper, and overall is more eye catching then all the others. night shots, unless they twinkle don't really catch attention that well.

Don,

Welcome. Seems to me, ALL of your images are a bit dark, even the daylight shots are 1/2 or more dark. You may like that or not see that,if your monitor screen is too bright. Also, your keywords need a lot of work. Punta Gorda is one of your shots and it's in the title, but not the keywords, same for other shots. St.Augustine boardwalk is the title, but there is no st, augustine in the keywords and boardwalk is spelled wrong.

FAA doesn't use the title for searches here, just the keywords,Google does, but here nope! So you need to have the most important words in the keywords and also the descriptions and then for Google, in the title. This will help you at least be seen in searches.

But I would look at your brightness first, if you didn't make them a bit dark to start with, here are a few links:

If after looking at these and you don't see a full range of and in your case, blacks, then it's a monitor adjustment,

Good Luck,

Rich

Rich, quick question re screen brightness - It seems that it should follow that if a monitor is too bright, the original image will look bright on the hard drive and the FAA version will also look bright. I noticed a huge difference between the brightness of an image I posted yesterday. Way too dark on FAA but the original is plenty bright when viewed in PS. What would account for that?

Don,it isn't my intent to hijack but the brightness issue is an issue. BTW, I love the colors of your Sunset photo!

Kathleen,

If your screen is too bright, then your images will appear bright also and when you adjust them darker, a normally exposed image then gets even darker! And the converse is true too. If your screen is dark to begin with, you'll adjust good exposures, that now look dark and lighten them way too much, but generally, folks screens are too bright, from the get go!

If you can see ALL the bands of gray, from black to pure white, your good!

I can't explain the FAA/Photoshop thing. I have a few images that should be really vibrant, but on FAA they appear dull. I re-uploaded one last night and will look to see if the new version is better. When I'm done with almost all my images for upload, I usually go to "brightness&contrast" and add 20+ brightness............. especially if I've done a lot of filters.

Which sunset are you talking about?

Rich, I was referencing Don's "Sunset" image. It is the 4th (broken) thumbnail down on Mike's critique.

Yes, the colors are also a bit duller on the FAA version but I'm concerned with how much darker it is on FAA. I see a lot of color and detail in my version that is completely swallowed in darkness on the FAA version. If my monitor is too bright (which it well may be) it stands to reason that the FAA version would also look bright on my screen but it does not.

Thank you all for the advise. Will work on key words. I have been told that my images are dark. I created them that way...But will adjust in the future. Thanks again for your time and comments...I really like this site, honest discussions.. Don
