As An Artist When You Die...imagine What Others Will Say

I don't dwell on what they will say when I am gone since I don't imagine there will be an ego left to care.
I care far more that I am making the biggest impact I can on my very miniscle following while I am alive.
I care that I am a living example for the children I brought into this world....because that will be their inheritance.

I don't imagine people will say much after I die, because that's just the way it is. We'll all become forgotten, more or less. My son will keep my memory alive as long as he lives, but after that, who cares. All I'm known for, anyway, is baking good cookies. If that is my legacy, it's a sweet one.

Lol. For me, they will say that their Facebook newsfeed is a lot quieter now.

I have made an impact on very few people's lives - but they are wonderful quality people. I just hope they carry a smile.

Life will go on, & make way for the new.

I always laugh and tell people they will probably burn my paintings for heat.

They'll be saying exactly what they are saying now. Except they'll say it a lot less. Then eventually not at all.

Sadly, I already used up all of my 15 minutes of fame in this life (in 1 an 2 minute increments over the course of too many years) so, that's it for me !

When I 'm dead and gone I don't care - I hardly care now - artists are a diverse group - wicked tongues sometimes - they have likes and dislikes and like and dislike others as most humans do. Thick skin is a must for many artists - you may have the best art in the world and people will still think you cheat or do something that ought not to be done - whether it's their 'business' or not. People are as often hurtful when "trying" to be kind as when blatant in your face unkind remarks about you or your work.

@ Kevin - mine will probably be packed around me to stoke the fire.

@ Marlene - if my work is my child's legacy - he'd better be able to sell snake oil to a snake.

I didn't come into this life to impress anyone or gather a fan club. I came to be all I could be. Those few along the journey with whom sharing contents of the heart and mind are deeply treasured. Each in their way have been like extended family. Each freely moves on and though contact fades, memory is sweet. What is remembered in love, lives forever, past, present and future.
