Featured Photos

Is there any way to tell if a photo has been featured by a group other then by looking at each one? That is what I am doing now and it is very time consuming. Is there a way to tell each time a photo is featured?

for an entire list? no. you can see it as it happens in activity, or the last 3 on your image. there shouldn't be a reason to check these things, it's not that important to the site.

I think it looks impressive on the photo site, especially in regards to potential buyers. Also, I have one group that only features photos that have been featured on other sites and so I like to make sure I add the photo to that group. Maybe when I have been on here longer. However, right now I always feel like I have gotten a prize when I have a photo that has been featured. I guess I will have to pay more attention to my activity site.

i've long since just forgot about features. they roll in at a fast frequency that i don't notice them any more. groups for those, buyers don't look in. and i know i'm never wowed by awards when i buy things. often it's better to advertise outward and let the picture do the talking.

I am new to this whole thing. I know that I am tweeting, sharing on FaceBook and promoting in groups. However, I have always been one to like to get prizes. It is kind of like a pat on the back and I just like getting them.

I have another question. Do you sell to galleries and if you do, do you have higher prices on your photos or art pieces because of the mark down that galleries do when they buy? If you don't sell to galleries is it because of the cut in income that you get when you make sales.

By the way, I looked at your photos. They are very nice.

patting on the back is nice and all, but it can lead to over confidence and later disappointment if sales don't come in.

i don't sell to galleries,i don't like having to compete against them, you have to show up in person, and i tend to hate people, and tend to not like putting out my own money to sell art, so it would never work out. usually if you work with a gallery, you have to charge more - and i'm not cool with that.

mostly i don't like galleries, too snobbish. many feel that your not an artist unless your in a gallery, but it seems like a lot of trouble to me,and i was never one to want to be in a spot light. hosting wine sipping gatherings and such, is a real bore to me, plus i don't drink, or like getting dressed up, and don't know anyone to invite. it be be a pretty empty room.

Actually I was referring to the galleries here on Fine Art America. They offered me the choice of all selling to galleries with a large mark down in my price.

Joy, if you type your name in the search box at the top of the page (for the FAA search engine), then click on the LH side where it says Sort - All, you will see - Recently Featured In Groups. Here you will see the groups where you have been featured.

Thanks Margaret, I seem to learn something every day on here, I didn't realise you could search like that.

oh those galleries, yeah, they should all be in galleries, it keeps everything sorted out, they are directories. and you want people to land there first, because as you add images and they get all mixed up it will be hard to find anything.

wait maybe your referring to the designer prints program - where they take most of your profit and then you sell to decorators. i personally don't do it, because i have no control of what they take and i can't sell everything commercially like that. while they might be doing the same things here, i don't know that for sure, but selling it there, i know its commercial and not everything can go that way. plus i would be competing against myself for a steep discount on two sites that look identical to each other. until he makes it so i can pick and choose, i have no plans on being there.

Margaret Thank you!

Is anyone who sees this in the 'designer prints program?'
