Image Problem With Printing Facility

Has anyone had problems with the printing facility lately? I have sold "Tranquility Below" 28 times and am now receiving an "Image problem" notice from the printing company that is is too blurry and I need to resize and upload again. This order is for a 17" x 24" I believe. But I have sold this same image as a 30" and even 36" on many, many different occasions with no problem what so ever. I have e-mailed them back with a question of whether it was sent out in error, but have not had any response as of yet. I see no e-mail availability to Beth any longer and am not sure what to do. I also received the same image problem with my very last order as well for a different image, but have not had any problems for about the last year and a half prior to that and the sale went through.
Anyone have a clue as to what might be going on? Mike Saved and JC, do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks a bunch!

Do they take into account print size purchased when judging the image?

Maybe they are getting a bit more strict because of returns on other images. Not your sharpest image but it may not matter for this and maybe being a little soft is part of the appeal. Glad they printed it.

The prints are not refused or accepted by just one person but by a team

If three people flag it then it is rejected and you are asked to upload a new, better quality version

Three people must have thought the image not good enough for the print to be printed

Do FAA / the printers do any editing (eg sharpening) and then re-save the images before printing them? If so maybe the continual re-saving of jpegs might cause the quality to drop a bit due to the compression factor? The material might make a difference as well, an image that is a bit soft may still look sharp on canvas but the softness would be more noticeable on high quality photo paper or acrylic.

Either the images were originally made and accepted (even though "grainy"), or someone took the time to look at what they were printing and decided the "grain" might be a problem (which it may or may not be/grain is not always bad), or a new more critical quality control person, or or or...Without being in the print shop and looking at your image and talking to the printer, it's really hard to deal with. You are at the mercy of strangers.

The "image problem" has gotten so bad for me that I've gone in and removed the largest couple of print sizes from several images just so I can feel comfortable that a sale will go through and not be cancelled. I sold the same image twice in the same size within 10 days and the second time it was suddenly too grainy. Dawn put it through but it still shows the same flaws with the quality judgement system that were mentioned above.

Dawn took care care of this for me too after I informed Abbey of the problem...Again taken care of, but just as you Paul, no explanation given as to why or what had happened even though I asked. At least the sale has gone through. Thanks to everyone for their input!

Had the exact same issue just last month - an image which sold in the past 40+ inches now was a problem at 20+ inches. Dawn took care of it, but no one ever explained the difference to me????

My daughter in law ordered a card of a VERY VIVID lily.... it was very washed out and the vivid fushia was light pink..... I wasn't happy about that, but I think I read that the greeting cards are outsourced. I have had to re-upload before, but not on an image that was previously sold...

I am here but you need to contact Dawn, not me.

orders- at - fineartamerica.com

I just looked it over and it was blurry compared to others that have been printed today so would have stood out in among them and been flagged
