Hello, my name is Rob O'Neal. I have been a staff photographer at the Key West Citizen newspaper since 1997. I hope to add to this site what people would consider 'artwork.' If you don't see anything of interest here, head over to robo.zenfolio.com. There are thousands of images there that are also available for purchase. My coffee table book, 'Key West Photo Safari' is also available via my website as are my 'Florida Keys and Key West' wall calendars.
I hope you enjoy the images as much as I do making them. With the exception of color balancing, cropping and toning, I avoid using Photoshop to create impossible scenes. These days, you don't always know if you're looking at a real photograph or a 'photo illustration,' which is fine, but not how I work. I've always believed if you have to spend more time fiddling with a photograph than you did shooting it, you need to either reshoot or move on. Call me a grumpy old man if you must, but I studied and learned photography, not graphic design.
