Photographer Paulina Roybal One Of The 26 Artists On Exhibit In The RedHanded Show

(from the DenverArts.org press release) This year's Juror Collin Parson is the Exhibition Manager and Curator of the Arvada Center. He had quite a task selecting the final 34 works of art from over 100 submissions from around the country. His great eye and curating style has given us what we believe is the best RED show yet. IT'S ALL HERE IN BLACK AND WHITE: 20x13 [+30] a book of photography tbellphotographic studio|gallery A panel of 13 professional artists, curators, gallerists and other notable individuals determined the exhibit. each juror was presented with the entries submitted from all over the united states, and independently selected the works which he/she deemed the strongest and most interesting. There were no subject matter restrictions for the show, entries just had to be black and white (or monochrome) and lens-based. the resulting exhibit is interestingly diverse in subject matter, but the common thread of the black and white medium creates a strong and cohesive presentation. There was significant interest in this show, nearly 480 images were submitted. although only 20 pieces will hang in the gallery during the show, 30 additional pieces received considerable juror interest which merit...

This article was released during the 2012 Community Show at Gallery NRC. My image of a tangled giant slinky was on exhibit during the show. I named it ' Fun for a girl and a Boy'. It was recognized as the abstract art in the show.
