I have over fifty years experience in all aspects of art studio production and management. I am a fine artist in a continual atmosphere of studying art masters' techniques and application, especially mideastern art. I have been educated in the School of Visual Arts and Art Students League in New York City. I have shown in New Jersey, Vermont, Florida, Alabama and Virginia and have sold paintings nationally as well as internationally. I am presently a member of the Shenandoah Art Association in Waynesboro, VA as well as being associated with CoArt Gallery and Co-Op and the Beverley Street School in Staunton, VA.

My purpose in painting is to evoke a feel of nostaligia - of simpler times and pleasures from the harmonizing chords of color. I try to turn my subject matter into a fantasyland of pleasing color, while balancing the horizontal and vertical plans of the canvas with a personal method of 'characterizing.' As a professional artist, I realize that art takes a lifetime to accomplish what I want to portray on the canvas through my cumulative studies, experiences and knowledge. I bring past experiences, memories and impressions to the surface of my subconscious by using line, color, logic, space and design, all within the boundaries of the size of the canvas, to creat a whole painting. Though some believe I am impressionistic in my application, I border fauvism (a movement in painting typified by the work of Matisse and characterized by vivid colors, free treatment of form, and a resulting vibrant and decorative effect).

My goal is to break away from the mundane and use my God-given talent to excite and entice art lovers from every walk of life. I have added some cutpaper artwork following in the steps of Matisse. Hope you like them!
