My name is Nenad Arsikj , I am 30 years old and my greatest passion is the Art of drawing and painting. Since my earliest age, whenever my parents would ask me: “What do you like for a birthday present?”, I was always saying: sketchbook, various paints – water, tempera, wood, oil..., different brushes for painting, collage and various accessories that would help my imagination transform into sketchbook, paper or canvas reality. My image for myself, since I can remember, is: sitten on the table, with the sketchbook in front of me, sloping and truly focused on my activity – drawing and painting. When I turned 18, without the slightest doubt, I knew where I see myself in the future. That is why I wanted to apply on the Art Academy, where I could upgrade myself, improve, modernise, update and excel my artistic spirit. Unfortunately, because of lack of funds, I wasn’t able to sign myself in the school of Art (Art Academy). However, despite my invidious situation, my dream, my strong desire and passion of art did not die, on the contrary, it just grew, so I continue to paint with more intensity, with fervor and zest that is only known by the human who have an artistic soul, with big stubbornness, spite and rebellion to become better than I have been ever, to outstand my talent and to pull out “The Thing” that lies deep in me – “The One and Truly Thing” that my spirit obeys on.
I did not have enough finances to study Art on the Art Academy, but I did have enough funds to attend private classes of Art. I started working in a business firm that was producing art equipment and materials so my funds for the private Art classes came from there. Hole year, three times a week, I was going on those private classes that were managed by one Macedonian professor of Art. These Art lessons (theory and much more practise) enriched my spirit, liberated my creativity completely and shaped and polished my artistic talent. Those classes upgraded my technique and skill of drawing and painting, they deepened me in terms of using the painting and art utensils, but, also, those lessons utterly masterful united my artistic talent with the technique of making Art.
Even if I don’t have an Art degree, I must say that I am great experienced and talented artist with endless passion and energy for creating artwork. I draw and paint in Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter (digital art). Also, I am creating artwork in the form that is known as Traditional way of painting – oil on canvas. These traditional form of art creating was my faithful companion from my high school days till now (and it will be for the rest of my life journey). The new, modern way of creating art – digital, is my friend for one year and a half. Regardless the relatively short period of unity with the digital form of creating art, I managed to lift our bond to the point of closest relationship that can never ever end.
If I should describe myself, if someone asked me: “Who are you? Tell me something about yourself...”, I would say the following: “I love to paint, I love to draw, I want to produce, construct, I like to create, I want to bear my soul on canvas!” – These words are tightly interwined with my personality, they are my reflection in the mirror, they are A PRIORITY in my life.
