“I have worked for all the major studios, Warner Bros., Disney, Dreamworks SKG, Fox, Marvel, and Technicolor to name a few.
It was through viewing hundreds of drawings together on one level that I discovered balance out of chaos. Years of representational painting as well as exploring shapes in the realm of character design and storyboard work for films have led to the art I’m creating now. My approach to painting was inspired by inadvertently stacking hundreds of storyboard drawings on top of each other, and realizing the randomness of all of them created their own Zen. Slightly beyond the breaking point is stability.
The first thing I think of when starting a painting is the feeling it gives to the viewer. The second is color. . The third is shape. Color is to an artist what a key is to a musician. Each shape is a personality. My thought process is non-linear, all encompassing, and all possible. My influences are Matisse, Picasso, Gauguin, and Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, and many others.”
