Thanks for Checking Out My Art!My works are studies of homes and streets in Glover Park, the DC neighborhood my Mother and I loved also homes in Milton, Delaware and in Show Low, Arizona.   Atlantic seaboard images like the WWII Gun Towers on July 4th and the stunning nature scenes through Sussex County, DE are a few of my favorite subjects.   For example, The 'Lewes Lighthouse 1926' is oil on canvas of the ubiquitous photo of its last days prior to the ocean finally taking it and the adjoining house.   My Rehoboth series has morphed into a Sussex County collection, 'La La Land', 'Firetowers',...more

Arts Georgetown Arts 2012 Opens Thursday The third annual Citizens Association of Georgetown arts show opens with a reception Feb. 16. The House of Sweden will play host to a selection of art by Georgetown residents and Georgetown-based artists beginning Thursday, Feb. 16. Georgetown ARTS 2012 is the third annual art show organized by the Citizens Association of Georgetown (CAG). The show kicks off with an evening reception Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the House of Sweden, 2900 K Street N.W. The exhibit is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 through Monday Feb. 20. Artist in Oils Leslie Byrne featured in Maverick Magazine A Cat of a Different Color: the work of Les Byrne By Amie Rodgers In June, Cedar Ridge Galleries presented the work of Les Byrne as part of their monthly art show series. World traveled actor, artist and local real estate agent Les Byrne was born in Washington D.C. in 1958. As part of a military family, Les was no stranger to traveling to far away places and leading a very interesting life as a result. She attended college at the University of London and was inspired to paint after moving to Los Angeles and meeting friend and artist Tom O’Mara. “Tom lives in Venice Beach and paints the most incredible expressionist paintings. His subject matter ranges from nudes to religious paintings. I have been painting for over twenty years,” notes Les. Before painting, Les was an actor.
