Art today has many connotations. Much art today is that of a painted photograph. Not like the old school of a few hundred years ago and painted from scratch. These photos can be transferred to canvass and the buyer is in no way aware.
For the thousands that do paint with a brush from scratch we can only continue to do so. For we know that people looking for perfection can buy a photograph to satisfy their desire.
Purchasing should be made by choice only. LOL The old artists of 100 to 500 years ago still have a monopoly on the market. Many of their works are in the public domain cheap for the art stores to invest in.... frame and sell to the public. Today's artists today are forever in monetary competition with da Vinci, Renoir, Michelangelo, Rossetti and the likes.
This artists feels that ones choice of an art piece to own is much like ones choice of alcohol to imbibe. It is all about taste. The taste of the individual and that alone. Cost and/or impressing one self and/or others is still another factor.
We cannot make people drink what they do not have a taste for,and so it goes with art. Much is bought by interest, a feeling, trial, error, time and exposure.

Like musicians and political campaigns most artists need funding to keep them afloat. Funding that is applied to studios, equipment, food and supplies. We can never be too proud to ask for client support across the board. It is not about donations, and tax right offs for artists. Most are scrambling to keep a roof over their head.

Your suggestions are welcomed at any time. Thank you for your accolades and your unending support. Kash Earley
