An academic in filmmaking blending theory with practical application. Currently teaching in Higher Education. I have been teaching in this sector for many years and have seen a lot of change, providing lectures and teaching practical film making skills and the process from preproduction to production to levels 4, 5, 6. I have taught a variety of post-production skills from editing, creating title sequences in After Effects, Sound Design for film/TV and DVD creation and authoring. I have designed short courses for level 7. I have taught in Further Education on a BTEC Level 3 Creative Media (Film/TV) course and designed the delivery for teaching film practice on the HND in Creative Media course.
I have produced a variety of work, liaising with clients on a professional level from an information/instruction programme for an international science company to a short documentary on teenage pregnancy which was used in schools to inform young people on teenage issues. I have created a title sequence in After Effects which has been used in a production for a school detailing the work they do with children of varying degrees of disability. I was hired as a freelance camera operator in making a documentary for Preston Prison which was about the health and well being of prisoners. I have also been involved in creating short films.
My photography work is varied from landscape, black and white, travel and even football stadiums, I tend to take photos of what catches my eye and don't really fall into any specific category.
