Gene Walls

I was born in the wild hills of West Virginia, raised in western Maryland and currently live in north central Pennsylvania, USA. 

My higher education includes Theological Studies, Electronics Engineering, Audio Engineering and Visual Arts. I taught a Media course at Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate).



Photography and music are my most beloved personal obsessions. Playing and listening to music provides an important source of inspiration for me. Photography allows me to express myself artistically, while creating a visual record of my travels & experiences. 



I use Canon photographic gear primarily. 

The photographs displayed here were captured in the Digital format, using all Canon EOS DSLR cameras, with a diverse collection of fine EF Series and “L Class' Canon lenses.

Capturing the beauty and complexity of nature is my main interest, from macro close-ups to wide view vistas ...and everything in between. Natural waterfalls are the most frequent photographic subjects found at the business end of my lens. Historic Covered Bridges and farmland scenes are also very close to my heart, but any visually interesting subject could be found in my ever-expanding portfolio.

I have a special interest in long-term photography projects, like my “Forgotten Farmhouse” series of images. I have captured that incredibly intriguing scene many times, just as it appeared in all twelve months of the year. It required countless visits over several years to record acceptable images to represent each month’s unique view. I fell in love with that beautiful Pennsylvania landscape …and the abandoned farmhouse that makes the place so unforgettable to me.
