Originally from Queensland and now living in Sydney, Australia. Gaye White first began her career as an artist when she retired from teaching in 2009.
Her still-life works often incorporate a collage of pages of old books and magazines over a board or canvas base. Gaye uses this collage base and combines it with heavy overpainting in oils.
Gaye has studied under Sophie Gralton, Barry John Raybould, Richard Robinson amongst others.
During her teaching career, Gaye trained adults in how to use their computers to produce visually pleasing presentations and documents amongst other things, and these days enjoys the lack of perfection away from computers.
Her work draws inspiration from nature and people and strives to achieve interesting, painterly art works.
Gaye White joined Fine Art America on July 23rd, 2012.
