Mohammadi has made a career out of modernizing mythology. He painstakingly recreates canonical Persian myths, shaping them from the esoteric into something very tangible. Inspired by the great Poem Shahnameh by Ferdowsi, Mohammadi utilizes anthropomorphic archetypes as a method of reaching the viewers unconscious mind. His work contains either figures or animals, delving further into the passive concepts of anima/animus. Not ironically so, Jung viewed the anima process as being one of the sources of creative ability. Naser Mohammadi hails from Tehran, and was only 19 when he started apprenticing with great contemporary Iranian painters, Yaghoob AmamehPich and Hannibal Alkhas.
