Dee Carpenter is an award-winning self-taught artist.
Since I began to paint in 2005, my passion for wildlife has grown. My world is about wildlife, bird life in particular. It is so interesting learning about behavior and relationships in nature. Especially mothers & children.
My paintings & photographs capture a tiny moment in the life of each subject. It's a privilege to be given that opportunity.
I've been a realistic painter since the beginning. I have tried to 'loosen up' in order to become more impressionistic. But, still I revert to my realism.
I do like to create surrealistic backgrounds with realistic subjects. But that's as loose as i've been able to get.
Photography is my newest passion. I love it because it's so much more than finding wildlife and subjects in nature. It's a practiced skill. But most important is that it gets me out of the house to explore!
My only goal in life is to go out and get the next photo or paint the next painting.
