I am mother of 2. I have been inspired by art since I was a small child.I currently have the first horse drawing I did as a rambunctious 6yrs old in 1976. All I can say, I have improved since then. I love doing pencil drawing in graphite or in plain old #2 pencil on a napkin. As I look at the world. I see it as images,patterns with meaning. As a mother ;I show my children how to look beyond the image placed in front of your face but, to see the shapes, and the emotions of what the shapes represent. We live in the hills of the Mississippi River Valley in south eastern Minnesota. Nature at its best.I am being more diverse in 'what' I draw .I prefer horses ,and all kinds animals to capture their muscles,movement , and to capture their emotion on a piece of paper. I am branching out to people, places and things. Drawing gives me a inner peace, and release. I can start a drawing, get so involved, and its hours before I set it down. The vast feeling of accomplishment after I finish is grand. I also can be my worse critic as well.
All I have have for training is what I was offered in grade school , books,video's, and tips from other artists. The best advise I got was from a dear friend which was ' Keep Practicing'.. Thanks Amy Ellis you are the best.
