I moved to Canada from England in 1966, and now, retired after 50 years in broadcast production in a variety of rolls, live in the amazing scenic countryside of Ontario’s Southern Georgian Bay, surrounded by a large community of awesomely talented artists, and yet still inspired!
As a boater on Georgian Bay for many years, and like so many artists before me, I am constantly in awe of the natural beauty and contrasts of rock and natural growth that millions of years of exposure has left us on the shorelines, from the limestone dolomites of the Bruce peninsular to the windswept Canadian shield pink granite rock and white pines on the east side; most of which is inaccessible except by water. Combined with the uplands of the Niagara Escarpment, and the evidence left behind of the tough rural pioneers that settled here, painting opportunities seem endless.
