I think there is a bit of art lover in every person. I don't remember ever being in a house where there wasn't some type of art adorning the walls. I'm a person who for his entire life has surrounded him self in natural settings that inspire artistic expression. It's very cliched to say this I know but the saying 'life is art' is an accurate statement. My interest in art is a very natural expression of who I am. People interest me as subject matter. They are a part of the natural environment and also provide interesting subject matter for my art

I prefer to be in natural settings like the mountains or state forests in Pennsylvania and Delaware. However, the most essential environment for me is at the seashore. Some of my art depicts wildlife and more specifically aquatic wildlife. I seem to come alive in an ocean environment and I attempt to express this life in my work.

The world we live in is a wondrous place. It can be crazy even deadly at times. Suffering and depravity coincide with the beauty in our everyday lives. I think art should touch on the beauty as well as the things around us that are not so attractive and will evoke an emotional response in the viewer. I value the God given gift of artistic expression that in some way can initiate a positive change or transition in someone interested in my art or photography.

My professional journey began when I took a position as a multi media production specialist at a computer firm in New Jersey. It was the first job that gave me the space I craved for artistic expression. Although I was working in an environment where contractual obligations of the company afforded me a somewhat narrow path for this expression it still allowed me a creative outlet. Since being disabled and retired I have devoted the bulk of my time creating art. It's been my desire to be an artist since college.

Art has the ability to express complex emotional responses in people. Art generates a love for learning and creativity if only esoterically. My home displays art that makes me feel good. But I also want to create art that makes people think about complex social issues. I paint and create art from subject matter that touches me in some way. It's my desire that I can share what I feel. So my work is created for making people respond in the most common or complex emotional responses.
