I recently heard someone say it's fine to be an amateur because you do what you do because of the love of doing it. Thats me, i'm an amateur photographer, i take pictures for the love of taking pictures. If by chance i sell one, i will absolutely do a happy dance! I love black and white photos, the shadowing that brings out the intensity, the simplicity of it. I live in beautiful Southern Oregon where we are 30 minute from lakes and wilderness, 45 minutes from a ski resort and 90 minutes from the most rugged and stunning coastline. My four legged children are often assaulted by my flash as are my chickens. My husband, also an often unsuspecting flash victim, seems to know exactly when to whip the car off the road so i can capture the perfect image.
