“OLD DUNLAP SCHOOL IN AUTUMN”
My husband’s father, the Rev. Hunt, attended the Old Dunlap School in the early 1900s. I cherish the memories and remarkable stories he shared. This charming one-room schoolhouse, dating back to the late 1800s, embodies the rich history of Sullivan County in Northeast Tennessee. Its walls have witnessed generations of eager learners, echoing with laughter and wisdom. This photo captures the essence of a simpler time, a piece of history almost forgotten, but not quite. The warm, golden hues of fall foliage complement the rustic façade in Autumn, creating a timeless scene that evokes nostalgia and serenity. It's a piece of our heritage, a reminder of the value placed on education and community in days gone by.
