No animal has a more distinctive coat than the zebra. Each animals stripes are as unique as fingerprints, no two are exactly alike although each of the three species has its own general pattern. Mother zebras are very caring and protective mothers. Infant zebras (foals) are able to stand, walk and suckle shortly after birth, and will continue to drink their mothers milk for the first year of life.
Zebras are born with brown stripes which will turn black as they get older.
